WTB: '89 SSC or '90 SC Saleen/Vortech Intake Manifold

I am looking for a 89 SCC or 90 SC Saleen/Vortech intake manifold with the SALEEN logo on top.

The SSC cars did not have the intake your requesting. You probably new that but just wanted to pass it along.

Unless i'm mistaken, every SSC from 1989 had this intake. Also, the Saleen Manufacturers brochure that I have speaks of the Saleen upper and lower intake. A lot of the SSC's i've seen have them as well. If i'm missing something then woops!

Either way, it's a great looking Intake and i'm looking for one, if you know someone please post it. Greatly appreciated.

The '89 SSC Saleens did not have this intake. They had modified stock Ford intakes. The intake you are looking for was introduced on the '90 SC Saleens and was developed in conjuntion with Vortech Superchargers. The intake was sold both by Saleen and Vortech and had either a "SALEEN" logo, a "VORTECH" logo or "SALEEN/VORTECH" logo. Later versions of the intake were cast with additional injector bosses on the side for adding additional fuel injectors on high horsepower applications. The intake uses a stock Ford 5.0L truck lower manifold. The Holley Systemax intake is almost an exact copy of the Saleen/Vortech intake. Anyway, I've seen a few of these intake for sale on E-bay and also in the classified section of The Corral (corral.net).

I've had that intake on some past cars, and loved it. It looks great, but they don't flow much "out of the box", they are bagging for an Extrode Hone. When completed they are the best flowing long runner intake for CFM.

I have heard that from other people as well thats why i'm looking for one. What is the difference between the intake that is shown on the SSC's 1989 with the Saleen logo on the top and the ones for the 90' SC's. My understanding was that they were basically the same intakes just different outside apperances. I would prefer the 90' intake becuase I have a Vortec and I also like the look of it but in general i'm just looking to preserve the Saleen look to the car and get some extra horsepower.

SALEENFAN is correct. That intake was released for the 90 SC. You can find then offered on ebay or try Performance Autosport. Mark might have one or know someone who does 804-784-8851. My wife has one on her 93Supercharged spyder and it is nice.

i have one of the intakes you are asking about. it has saleen stamped on top of it. it is polished and ported and it also has a chrome 70mm tb. i had it on a 306 with tfs heads and a supercharger. this is one of the few with the extra injector bosses. i think there were 2 different ones. the intake was race ported by Brian Tooley of Total Engine Airflow in Bowling Green KY. i have no idea what this is worth. you can make me an offer if you would like. or email me and i can send pics. my email is lxxlr8s@comcast.net or # is 615-260-1336

I have the Saleen/Vortech intake as well, it definitely is one of the best out there. Unfortunately it is no longer made by Vortech. Your only bet for one is ebay or another venue for sale used. If you can get just the upper then go for the Holly lower, it's been ported already and flows very well. A standard Truck lower works as well but you will need to do some port work.
