From reading some of the posts on this board I see a lot of different opinions on this topic. Can someone help me set the record straight?
What were the rims used on the 86 Saleens?
Size? Color? Brand?
The original rims were stolen from my car during a previous ownership and I'd like to replace them.
The one thing I've noticed is everyone is claiming they have 15s and what I've read was they should be 16s. I'm currently running with the original 86 mustang 10 hole rims. It looks kinda funny.

Some of the early '86 cars used carryover '85 parts. My 86-012, for example, has the '85 ground effects and 15" Hayashi wheels. Saleen used a variety of different wheel manufacturers (Hayashi, Riken, American Racing and maybe Enkei). Anyway, later model '86s had 16x7" wheels. I have a set of 16x7s off of my friend's 86-089 hatchback. They are the original wheels that came on the car and are made by Riken.
Black, white and grey were the available colors of the wheels (although I have seen one red '86 that had red basketweave wheels).

You said you had a set of 16X7s from a friends car. Does that mean you are selling them?
What color are they?
Thanks for your time

I have a set of the 15" variety and they are the 4 lug jobs... I believe they are from a 85. They are white. Let me know if you interested and make an offer. Gibson_lp_ks@hotmail.com

I will have to think about it. I really want the 16s back but I may still be interested. Can you send me some pictures?
Thanks for your time

Our 86 has it's original 16 x 7 Enkei wheels. I believe they started with the Riken in 86 and switched over somtime that year.
