4/8/06, I went on the tour at the Irvine plant...They were selling Saleen apparel... I asked about the discount and they (Carlos) said only Team Saleen members. It took more time convincing them about the discount and they said (Carlos) it will only happen 1 time only... :(
I think this matter should be resolved (Especially when the Saleen store opens). The Flyer our club puts out seems to be misleading...I joined this club for activities with other Saleen owners. :D But I would like the discount to be clarified... Thank you for you time

Hey, Ben...
As I explained to you at the time, it was a simple oversight.
I thought we at least had you straigtened out; if not, e-mail me with your purchase info and I'll help you get it fixed.
Discounts do not apply to sale items, and after just now double-checking the items I bought, some of those were sale items that were discounted equal to or more than our club discount.
But I certainly appreciate your concern for others, and we'll try to make sure the parts department understands when the discount applies.
We're also working on re-vamping our membership cards to make sure members know when the discount applies and when it doesn't -- as well as Saleen knowing the same.

I was going to buy the Saleen Car cover and I know thats not on sale. But it made consider another vendor. :roll: The oversight would not be a problem with other Saleen staff members, but Carlos (Is he in charge of sales? Right?). It seems to be a headache just to save couple of bucks.
Jim, I still appreciate all that you do for the club... :D

Hopefully the kinks will get worked out of the system.
With your dealer taking since June to just now get your paperwork to Saleen is certainly the biggest kink.
We're trying to get the word out to new owners:
Purchasers of new Saleen vehicles receive a variety of benefits, including a complimentary 1-year membership in SOEC. After your purchase of a new Saleen, the dealer reports the sale to Saleen. Shortly afterwards, Saleen sends you a ?Saleen Owners Registration and Survey Form.? When you return that form to Saleen, your entry will be made in the official Owners Registry and you will receive your other benefits, including your 1-year membership in SOEC. Please allow 3-6 weeks for a SOEC membership packet to arrive.
So if you don't receive your SORS Form from Saleen, that means the dealer hasn't reported your purchase to Saleen (in its RDR paperwork), and you need to remind him -- otherwise Saleen (and SOEC) has no idea you exist.

The other Kink (Beside the Spelling of City) was the sale person at Galpin Ford left the dealership for another career. My paperwork was sent, but I had no idea about the other benefits. Jim, I did exist to SOEC... I still own my 2001 Saleen #629 but my name is spelled wrong!!! hehehehe (Old Kink)

Perhaps you can help me out as well. I purchased a new Saleen last August. Saleen was notified promptly by my dealer and I received the thank you letter from Steve and returned the survey. This was acknowledged by Liz and I received the $100 credit towards any product purchases.
I have never received any membership packet from the SOEC. I've even sent emails on two separate occasions inquiring about the issue. Assuming there was no longer any free membership, I mailed a $25.00 check to the contact address on the this website about 2 months ago. The check has yet to be cashed.
If the membership is free for the initial year, can I get my check voided and a kit sent to me?

I sent your message to Marilyn, who at this moment is working on getting memberships updated with the help of a new assistant.
With the staggering sales numbers in 2005, the office just has not been able to catch up.
You should hear back from myself or Marilyn this week, and I'll make a special note to follow-up with you to make sure you got everything taken care of.
