Has anyone run the IPS (formerly CONTEX) racing suspension system on their car? I did some research and know Contex/IPS went bankrupt approx. 6 years ago 1999. GRC Performance, is the shop that handled installations for them have sold out the parts they carried 3 years ago. I am hoping to find someone that has working knowledge of these racing suspensions.

Let me know if you are out there.

Thanks.

If you did more research you would find that they are poorly engineered and overly heavy. The rear hub carriers are not strong enough and will eat bearings. I just removed a complete rear a few months ago and the scrap guy took it away. What exactly are you after (performance-wise), what type of driving to you intend to do, and what is your budget?

mstngdn, thanks for the reply. Since I posted this topic I have found what you referring to. The concept was poorly executed and the parts were inferior.

The reason for my interest is I just picked up a car with this crap on it and its the full package (front & back). The car's rear is sitting on the wheels and the left coil over spring is out. Based on what I have read, most likely the rear strut pocket mounts failed. I knew this car was going to be a long term project and I am trying to formulate a plan to replace the suspension. I actually found an indepth review of the system and the installation required removing or relocating the stock mounts. I plan to jack the car up and get a look at the underside this weekend.

When you took yours off what did you replace it with? Aftermarket or stock?
How much work was involved in removing it? Got any pics?

Any info you could share would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
