IRVINE, CA -- September 8, 2008 -- After a long and successful tenure and after holding a myriad of positions, many of them under the helm of Steve Saleen, we are sad to report that longtime aftermarket manager Carlos Duran will be leaving Saleen Speedlab on September 17.

For longtime enthusiasts, Carlos' name has been synonomous with Saleen performance, being a venerable fixture at Saleen since the late 1990s while the company was still at its Whatney facility in Irvine. Since Bonnie Baker left earlier this year, he as been the last of the "longtimers."

Carlos has not yet told us where he will land, but he did express to us there are many friends and customers he's built relationships with over the years with whom he wants to keep in touch, so he promises to check in with us when he gets settled in.

We wholeheartedly wish him the best of luck in the new chapter of his life.

He will be missed at Saleen.

I will miss Carlos alot... we had become pretty good friends over the years. I spoke with him last week and he has a great opportunity. I'll let him disclose where he is landing.

BTW, him leaving has nothing to do with the current or future status of Saleen. He just came across a great opportunity for him and his family.

That explains why carlos never called me back. Hope he does well.

Ranks in the top three loses for Saleen. I still remember his first car show, we had to break him, and did we that was a fun time.

Buddy I will miss you, take care and good luck. You need to do what is right for you and the family.

He is going to be doing fine... he has landed in a good spot OUTSIDE of the auto industry.

Very sad to hear this.

I am sure that Carlos will be great with whatever he gets into. Jen and I both wish him the best of luck.

Heck; I just met him a month ago at the Dream Cruise! I guess that's typical for the auto industry these days. Best wishes to Carlos (and yes, I did go for the 19" H302SC chrome wheels with Pirelli Rosso's we discussed at the show!). I hope he keeps in touch with us enthusiasts!

I also agree that he will be missed. There is a lot of Saleen knowledge that will be gone. Another expert dropped from the Westcoast Saleen Front.

Not good! I hope Jared is well kept!

Does anyone know where Saleen will move now that they are out of Irvine.. I heard it was only a few miles south? (as there R&D Dept. in So. Cal)

I believe they'll be in Mission Viejo... more to be announced once they get settled.
