Anybody have an Idea on how I can mount the front plate on my 96? I really don't want to drill into the facia and mind you that the bottom part hangs low. I was thinking of drilling the bottom piece of the facia.

I second the not drilling holes bit.
Some people toss the front plate on their dash, some coupe owners toss it on the package tray.
One idea is to mount it behind the front bumper cover and have the plate numbers visible through the lower air intake.
The easiest idea is to mount the front plate with double sided tape and take it off from time-to-time.
If you want to drill holes. Some folks have used the SVT Cobra front plate holder for a finished look.

In ohio it MUST be mounted to the front bumper.... Just throwing it in the front window is NOT legal but I did it with all of my cars and have really never been bothered much about it. I just normally tell them that Saleen doesn't make a front bracket for it but here it is in the window and they understand. :) I have even been asked if my cars are fast... By a cop at that :)
As for the SVT plate holder, I don't know how that would be possible since the cobra bumper and Saleen bumper are completely different... Having a Cobra aswell, I could not imagine taking the plate bracket and mounting it on the front of a Saleen.
Pesonally, the front window or the tape idea is what I would go with.

It's happened. Either by owners or original selling dealers. It's not fantasy.
Anything can work. It comes down to how the basic contours mate. Off the top of my head... a 1992-1995 SHO plate holder might also work.
Without looking at both eras... I would think the 1999-2004 Saleen front cover can mate the 1999, 2001 Cobra plate holder.
Anyway... lets look at them. The main issue with the 1994-1998 era, would be the lower protruding edge that the Cobra bumper cover has. The plate holder is molded with a recess that would go unfilled elsewhere.
I'd go with the tape.

Dave thanks for the advise. The plate on the dash will not keep me from getting pulled over/ticket. And i see the braket you are talking about. I don't think cars look good with that braket on the bumber.
This is what I did on my Roush. What do you guys think?

I'm not familiar with the Roush bumper covers. Not sure if that part on the Roush is more sturdy than the similar area of a Saleen cover.
I'll default to Wayne.
Unrelated. How do/did you like fnsweet.com? Format, content, members, etc. Just curious.

I think they are similar in thoughness. I'm 95% sure thats were I will end up drilling for the plate.
Unrelated: Fnsweet is my home away from home. The moderators are all very knowledgeable, courteous, and very friendly. yeah once in a while you'll get haters but then again, you get those anywhere. The layout is simple, easy to navigate. Just like this Forum. I hope to make friends here, hang out and probably do a couple of gtgs.

Some of the SN-95 Saleen covers sagged there. Though, it seemed most of the ones I saw that did this where Budget S281 rentals, so maybe they hit a bunch of curbs and driveways. Or maybe someone stood on it.

There are some real sketchy ideas of maybe going in that direction... with some things.
Courteous... Jim's probably going to ask me to leave.

Yeah mine is sagging aswell. I'm debating on purchasing a new front facia. I was looking at this picture and it looks straight.

Hey Dave, The Saleen Cobra that you have pictured looks like a car that I was bidding on. Did you end up winning the car?

No, not me. Looked like a neat car though.

I agree. I am still a little bummed that I was not the high bidder. :(

I think/thought there was a white one in VA for sale. Might be the damaged one (or not). The one on EBay wasn't the damaged one, correct?
The Cobra S281s are neat. I think when I was in school, I can recall seeing a white '98 coupe on EBay with the optional black Recaros. Looked like fun!

The one that was just on Ebay was from NJ. It was a 2 owner car that, as far as I know, had not been wrecked. There is always another one.

Try this one, I read about it on mustangforums. I have not tried it but as it is required here I may end up doing it and I like the no drill solution.

Cool, thanks. I've checked these out and was wondering if it would fit my 96. I send the seller and email. Hopefully it does!

Front plates look so out of place on Saleens. On GTs, Cobras and LX's, it doesnt even matter whether there is a plate on front....looks the same.

I have lived in California for 15 years and stopped only once for no front license plate in Aliso Viejo. I probably deserved it driving since I was driving an Eclipse.
