Hey! I haven't posted lately cause I have been busy with my 87 Drag Car. I haven't used my car in a couple years and my speedometer and odometer quit working right before I quit driving it ! One of the fuses was blow and I put a new one in. Didn't help a thing.I changed the gear drive in the trans and it didn't help! I traced the wires from the gear to the fire wall and everything looks fine! I pulled the instrument cluster and the printed circut board on the back of the panel had a shorted out place on it. I ordered a new circuit board and changed it out and installed it and it started shorting out just like the original one! The car has 7,300 miles on it and hasn't ever been in the rain. It is stored in a heated garage. The car looks and smells new. I do start it up and drive it around the block every few months. This issue is about to drive me crazy! Any help would be appreciated! Thanks, Mark
I could be wrong, but do these clusters have a piggyback circuit from Saleen? Greg's N20 had an extra device and I want to say these Mustangs have one too.
Though, this could have nothing to do with your problem.

Dave, I couldn't find any! The dash has never been taken apart ! There is 2 plugins only!( That plug into the cluster) Thanks! Mark
I'll punt the ball, send a note to Scott (S351r).

You can get a short at the two connectors that plug into the cluster.

I had something similar in a 94 Cobra. I just had to watch how I installed the cluster. Take the cluster out and look at the connector. See if any of the pins look like they could touch or if they are shifted. If you want you can pm me for my contact info.

The 200MPH gauges have a chip on the back from Motorola to calibrate the speedo. Problem might be there. I hope not though, those chips are almost impossible to find.
