Ok, so I've had my 98 S281 for about a year now and it pretty much just sits in the garage. I decided to clean it up and after moving the seats fwd so I could vaccumm, I noticed what appear to be seat belt/harness brackets. They bolt to the rear seat track mounting (larger bolts) and have three 1 inch "eyes" (1 center and 1 on the far inside and outside) Both seats have these.
Any ideas? Was this a factory option? No belts came with the car.
Car has factory leather seats and roll bar.
I would guess this feature was added.
If you can and if you have the time, please shoot a photo and post it.

The first pic is the hole under the front of the seat...anti-submarine belt maybe?
The second pic is the belt bracket behind the seat bolted to the rear track. Both seats have the same configuration.
Any ideas?

It's also got some really nice weld in subframe connectors
I can't recall seeing this. Looks like others are stumped as well. Hmmm.

LOL
Car also has a SOEC decal on the windshield...former owner might have been a member
Have you searched for the previous owner(s)? We could maybe see if files exist for past members and their cars.

well I found the original owner (BMW Service Tech in Houston) at the time he purchased the car he was a driving instructor for Porsche and was able to put several laps on my car on Texas World Speedway. He added Tokiko adj. struts, headers and the racing seat belts.
Nice to know some history! Thanks Dave for the info!
Neat news! Glad you found some of your '98s past.
To be honest, I don't remember or can recall doing anything. With that, you're welcome.
