Its starting to look like revolving doors with PJs going in and out of JDM. One out another in, so forth and so on. Or maybe its more like a PJ horsepower feeding frenzy!

Beautiful car with solid performance. Are those PJ Engine bay accessory caps? They clean up the engine nicely. Where can I take a look at a set of them?

Hmmm..I mentioned this before..why not do what I did and yank the underpowered 302 and shoehorn a 429 or larger into the engine bay, a tranny and clutch upgrade and your good to go..and I did my complete powertrain upgrade for just under $15,000 (northern pasos!).

lol, why did you purcahse a PJ? Might has well have bought a GT, and slapped on a 429. In my book, that's diminishing the instrinsic value of the car.

Hahaha..I can appreciate the purest in us all. That said, a GT would need more upgrades than you can shake a stick at..lol..by comparison a PJ with suspension, brake, cooling and fuel systems, drivetrain and of course engine modifications is radically different in my mind (not to mention it is no big deal to pull an engine and tranny as anyone can tell you) especially with the original 302, tranny and clutch just sitting nicely in storage. If you were to see my PJ sitting at a stop light or parked at the beach you wouldn't even notice any cosmetic differences without popping the hood or getting on the ground (there are the brakes of course) and inspecting the undercarriage etc. other than it now sits lower and more level. I can bring her back to delivery status within a week if I ever choose to do so..but I won't..lol. She's lighter, much faster, stops faster and cleaner, handles much better with the Griggs and likes the Chevron 94 even more than before. If I had any complaint it would be that the Pirellis are not wide enough now. If you thought cold starts sounded nice with your 302..lol..just doing my part for the economy.

You are silly. Lighter?!?
Faster - maybe. I'd be willing to line em up though.
I think we need some pics of your car...

I don't see how it can be lighter; quicker (?) what RWHP is your 429 pushing and at what TQ.
Yes, I would love to see some pictures of your setup.

I agree with the above coments!
Why would you buy a PJ to do that? The amount of money to make a pushrod 429 work on top of the high purchase price of a pj must be crazy!!
I would like to see pics of your set up!!
Well this guy did it to a GT, Looks killer.

Do we know how many Super PJ's have been created? Or how many SPJ's did JDM create?

I can do a search in our system I think, if not it would take a little time to go back over all the invoices.

I was also curious about the numbers of Super PJ's since I just had my conversion done and this is the email I received from Saleen.

Subject: Parnelli Jones Saleen Supershaker Question
I just returned from Brenspeed where I had the Supershaker supercharger added to my PJ Saleen #292. What an amazing difference, I love it. I was wondering if you keep track of how many PJ’s have been upgraded to this supercharger and if you are willing to tell me the number? Just curious how many are out there. Thanks for such a great product and the crew at Brenspeed were awesome. Thanks for the information Mike Colgan.
Mike,
Glad to hear everything went well and you enjoy your new Supershaker kit.
I do not have the numbers for the Supershaker kit on the PJ, but I would guess maybe 35 to 40 kits off the top of my head.
Thank You,

That number sounds reasonable since I had my PJ done in 01/09 the estimated was 20 to 25.

Thanks Jim!

I am under the impression the Super PJ's are re-registered by SPV. I have a vague memory that this was one of the selling points of the PJ upgrade and one reason for the PJ only number plate on the shaker lid. Is SPV still mounting a PJ number plate to the assembly?

Yes the plate on the shaker has the same number as your bumper number.
