I got flagged down in the Home Depot parking lot. A guy says "hey, I have an S331 too. I live right up the road. How many problems have you had with yours? I have a lawsuit against Ford and Saleen right now."

Apparently this guy has had ALL KINDS of problems with his S331. I encouraged him to join here and share his experience.

Kind of a shame that the only other S331 owner I have ever met and the first words out of his mouth are....how many problems have you had with yours? Not bashing him, just the reputation of these trucks.

The bad thing is depending on the problems, you do not know if it is Ford or Saleen's problem to take care of it. I hope that the guy you ran into does sign-up and fills us in on what is going on.

Awayne, you are exactly right. However, the problems he mentioned to me, were all saleen. The brakes, the wheels/tires, whining rearend (probably from the pinion angle issue that has been mentioned), etc. What sucks his, his truck has been at the dealer for a month and they wont give him a rental.

He has 20k on his truck. Hell, I was just happy to meet another S331 owner that lives less than 10 min away!....but I feel bad for him

WOW... that does suck!

Atleast all the problems are linked to one and not both Saleen & Ford which does make it a bit easier.

But on a positive note, congrats on meeting another S331 owner near you. :)

Not to hijack this thread but I have been reading here for a few months now and I'm blown away with all the problems "real" S331 owners have had and continue to have. Those that have seen some of my posts will know that I have a clone of sorts. Originally purchased an 08 Mark LT and then added the Ground Force lowering kit which included a set of shims to correct pinion angle. Roush front and rear sway bars were added as well as the Saleen 23" wheels and Toyo tires. Dynatech long tubes & Magna cats mated to a SIDO magnaflow rear exit exhaust. Then of course the Saleen supercharger.

With all that now done for several months my truck is mostly trouble free. I do have hesitation during WOT but I'm 100% sure it's tune or plug related both of which I have on the radar to fix. All this leads me to assume (never good) that most of the troubles that you are all having are Saleen issues and not with the base truck. With the tall price tag on these trucks you would think Saleen would get it right.
