I bought my Saleen from out of the area. I need to have some warranty work done (airbag recall and speedo recalibration). Does anyone have good or bad things to say about the local SF Saleen service dealers...Albany Ford, Future Ford (Concord), Capitol Expressway Ford, or Towne Ford?

I wouldn't take your car in on a Friday, as just in case they have to send the PCM to Troy for re-flashing, you'll be out your car for the weekend. But if the dealer follows the Saleen-prescribed procedure properly, there shouldn't be a problem.


If you do happen to have any problems, please give me a holler... I've got a pretty good inside line at Saleen who want to see the owners satisfied.

By the way, I know of at least 3 PJs for sale for less than sticker -- two are advertised from Villa Ford -- check out the Auto Trader section at http://saleenforums.soec.org/showthread.php?t=3132.

If you have to do the recall and the speedo TSB, they have to send the cluster to Troy no matter what. Either way your car will be down for the week. Make sure the dealer overnights it and they call ahead of time to Troy and advise them that it is coming.
Todd at Future Ford is a good guy and knows what he's doing. I worked with him while at Saleen at he's pretty knowledgable.

I just talked to Jake Taylor who's advertising that at Capitol Expressway Ford... he says the price is very open to negotiation so if anyone's interested, please give him a call.

One reason they advertise a high price is to cover their bases legally, so try not to be too hard on the guy.

Why are other dealers able to advertise at a realistic price? There a several new PJ and Gurney editions on ebay with way more realistic buy it now prices.

I'd give Jake a break, but I called him once before as a favor because he misspelled both Parnelli and Saleen in a prior ad. He also listed the car as yellow. I think you should know your product if you hope to get respect.
