Hello all, I need a little help.I am a big fox body saleen nut.I have an 87 hatch and an 88 vert, but I really haven't followed 94 up Saleen prices.I own a shop in town and have a customer who has a 94 S351 convertible. The car is triple black and mint.Odometer reads 18000.The owner is a nice guy who I trust. What is the value? He is wanting $19000 is that a good deal?I think I may sell the hatch if I buy this car.If anyone is in the market for a clean 87 hatch, let me know.
A 1994 S351 Drop-top w/ 18,000 miles for $19,000? Shoot. I'd be buying it.
You'd want to check the car out for previous damage or repairs, but other than that. I'd go for it! The neat thing about the car you found... its a 1994... a neat first year edition and low production keeps it far-and-few.
I'll agree, the FOX cars seem to have a gain in the chitter-chatter at the moment, but like Mr. Saleenlocator says... or I'll paraphrase... "good time to be buying these S351s." These labor intensive cars were the Saleen vision through-and-through. Eventually they should cast their shadow onto the FOX collector market. Then too... if they never gain interest; still an awesome vehicle!
The first Saleen Mustang I had a chance to drive was an S351. The sights, sounds, and basic "I'm something special" as it's barking and shaking in traffic sold me on the model.
Shoot... I might have just talked myself into this 1994 if you don't want it.
As for value... Greg (member: saleenlocator) can give you some insight. Greg sold me on the idea of S351s. Mark at PAS can help you out as well. (I'm not sure what Mark's thoughts are for the 351 cars.)
As a side: Part of me favors FOX era cars, but the SN-95 S351 were a "New Breed" of performance vehicles.
Best wishes!!!
P.S. As side advice... don't give out too much info about the car over public forums unless you're confident you have first dibs. People have a way of putting pieces together and snagging things before the sun sets. Sad side of the hobby, but it exists.

Dave,Thanks for the info.I bought the car today, and will let you know if i want to sell it in the future.I really appreciate your honesty, and once again THANKS.
PS I probably have to make room for this one in the garage. If anyone is interested in a nice hatch Saleen I would like to sell 1987 161 a Black Saleen, slight front grill and hood damage, otherwise a nice Saleen.Your choice of mesh or five spoke are wheels.Interior is good except usual seat wear associated with a 130000 mile saleen.Probably need 5800 or somewhere close to sell.
Congrats on the '94! I think you'll love it!
