Welcome to the forums and thanks for stopping by to say "hello."

98-0119: Torsen, 3.55:1 gears, Saleen Cloth, Speedster, Black Top.

$5,000? I think you stole it.

The 1996-1998 S281s are currently considered used cars and have a weak market. (Though at present, everything has a weak market.)

$5,000? That's great.

You do have a neat SN-95 S281 in that it features a few REALLY cool Saleen options. Like the Torsen Diff and Recaro interior. A neat one to own. Good score! If the SN-95 S281s gain with collector interest, the higher option cars should have a spotlight.

Hope you're enjoying the new ride!

Unfortunately, KB does not make a kit for the 96-98. You would have to look at Vortech, Paxton, or Procharger.

You could use a KB "IF" you changed your heads by doing a PI swap BUT then it would raise your compression TOO much for a blower.

BTW, where is California do you live?

One idea is, you can update your short block and run a Saleen Series supercharger from the 1999-2004 S281 era with a re-tune.

This will fit under your OE hood and keep the Saleen appearance when you pop the hood.

It can be done but with limited boost (7 to 9lbs) and the right other add ons. I'm running a series 2 s/c with ported p.i. heads, comp cams with the stock 96 block and enternals. Yes the compression is raised but it can be done. 440-450hp with 390rwhp.
