Ok, 98 S281 suffered a rock chip that turned into a crack. Hagerty is replacing the windshield and decals but I can't find a Carlite (OEM) glass. My glass guy says he can get the Carlite for a 99-04 and it's the same glass with the addition of a "pony emblem" about the size of a half dollar.

What should I do?

Also my car has a Saleen Owners decal on the windslield... where can I get a replacement?

Thanks guys!

Eric

I'm trying to remember, but I do believe there was more that one style of 1999-2004 Mustang windshields. At least in 1999 there was a version like you speak of, with a small pony at the top middle. At some point, I do believe there was another version that had a larger pony that was worked into the tint band, centered at the rear view mirror area. My mind could be aging though, but something triggers this memory.

The small pony version is not intrusive.

Only other option I can see... search high and low for a new leftover 1994-98 shield or a good used one.

Excellent question. The NC home office might still have a few. Contact forum member Jim D. so that he can contact the home office.

That sounds right for a '99. Ignore my comment about it being at the top.

There was a later version with a large top Pony though. Or, I'm finally on overload.

I can confirm the pony is at the bottom-center on a '99. :)

I worked for ford and they did have the ponys in 99, I saw cars with large and small ponys, You might try calling ford about ordering the proper glass. Glass shops are alot cheaper, but oem glass is better.
