Steve Saleen has released a sketch of his new 460 SMS Mustang in honour of Mr Steve Saleens 25 years in the business of Fords jewel the Ford Mustang. The 460 will feature
470HP with 427TQ with a five speed manual transmission or automatic.
Mr Saleen has also released information on the upcoming SMS 460X the more powerful version, it will have 655HP and 600TQ with a six speed transmission out of the enlarged 5.0L V8 engine. The 460 is expected to reach 60MPH in the low 4 second range with the 460X in the even lower 4 second range. The cars will also have Steve’s signature Watt’s linkage suspension and new brakes for handling.
Personally I think the car looks great although I miss the Saleen inc look but I’m happy Mr Saleen is free to do what he likes with his new company. I can only wonder what Saleen under its new leader ship will do. Mr Saleen is also warranting the Saleen vehicles that the new company will not honour.
