I have been experiencing some pinging lately, I have used all kinds of different fuels, changed the fuel filter and lastly checked for vacuum leaks. I removed the c&l intake and flashed the ECM back to the saleen tune months ago and I'm still having detonation.
Does anyone know what spark plug the pj's came with? Stock?
Would going to a cold heat range spark plus help? maybe like these...

I would appreciate any advice you guys could give me! Thanks!!

yes they run the stock spark plug. Try cleaning the MAF sensor. Sometimes oil from the filter gets on the sensor and causes the car to run lean.

I had trouble with detonation and lazy performance once the car came up to operating temp. First attempt at the solution was to install a snow performance methanol injection system. This addition solved detonation but car was still lazy at operating temp. I started looking at the intake tract and low and behold the bottom of the airbox has been removed. A massive hole exists in the airbox faceing the drivers side exhaust manifold. Saleen modified the airbox to compliment the amount of airflow capable of the enlarged intake tube supplying the throttle body. I surmised that once the car reached operating temp. the incoming intake charge becomes heat soaked by the exhaust manifold prior to entering the airbox. Sealing the airbox hole created by the factory I thought would be counter productive but I tried it anyway. Zilch, no marked improvement. I then decided to make the shaker hood scoop be the only source for incoming engine air. I remodeled the intake tray and asscociated tubing to match the throttle body surface area and fabricated new fiberglass parts from these models. I made an air filter from the existing Saleen K&N and installed it forward of the MAF. It took about 6 months of tinkering but has been well worth the effort. I now have fulltime cold air performance and zero detonation without methanol when using 91 octane.

I have PJ-177 I am in need of new plugs, has anyone replaced their plugs and if so what did you put back in (brand and gap)? I have a set of Brisk silvers but don't know what to gap them at? The FRPP 3V plugs don't get gapped but I read negative reviews on them. I want a worthy one pice plug, anybody tried something that woked? Any help would be great!
Thanks.
