Looking at PJ #190 -- Anyone have info on this car? [Archive]

Looking at #190 down in NC with just over 6000 miles.

small dealer certified guy that sounds like he does this on the side.

He doesn't know when warranty is up (if any left) or if Watts Link recall performed...anyone know how i can check that for sure?
if i get carfax will it show the recall work if done?

A carfax is always a good idea to establish a solid paper trail, but it will not show anything regarding voluntary (not NHTSA-mandated) Watts-Link or Speedometer Calibration voluntary recalls by Saleen.

Carfax has a free recall check and this is the result:

MJ Acquisitions at 800-888-8945 should be able to tell you if the Watts-Link and Speedometer Calibration TSBs were executed.

The speedo could be important to you as the true mileage won't be correct -- the speedo reads significantly faster than you're really going (a standard highway marker for distance test or a GPS should give you a good idea if it's off).

The Watts-Link problem is a safety issue and should be fixed.

Download the related TSBs in the TSB section (http://saleenforums.soec.org/showthread.php?t=5420) so you have them.

Here is the Ford Oasis report, if any Ford Dealer did warranty work it would show on this report, most of the time Saleen warranty work shows on the report but not always.

Thanks for the info from both of you!
so from the looks of this no work done on the watts link; since it has not been done is it too late or if i took it to a ford dealer in the coming months would they make the repairs based on the fact it is a recall?

I think you would need to get Saleen/SPV to approve the warranty repair/recall first. Many Ford dealers might be reluctant to handle it without guarantee of payment and they won't have the parts. Call SPV they will be able to steer you in the right direction. If that fails SMS maybe able to help too.

hmmmmmmm......I have no record of that VIN ever being on the dyno. If it's a PJ, i should have had it at some point or another.

all that means is, its one of the very few that was finished while being put on the transport truck, if you know what i mean....

dealer in NC on this one called me a couple weeks ago and wanted to move it so worked out what i felt was a fair deal for my 2007 SC S281.
So it was delivered on saturday, and i have no regrets!
The SC model was an awesome ride but the PJ is so much smoother and more what i was looking for.
