Anyone make a PJ Car Bra? I'm getting the bumper within the week, off to paint and stripes in a week and can't clear bra it til after carlisle so that the paint and stripes cure. I defintely need a bra, if not blue tape will have to do.
Please let me know if anyone knows of where I could get one or if a GT one would work?
Thanks!
I think forum member Bruce did the edge of his hood. Not sure if he also did the bumper cover of his PJ.
Forum member Jess Albright should be able to assist in answering if there is a PJ/Heritage clear kit.

ah no I can definitely get the clear bra custom made for my car, I found a local guy but I need a real leather bra for the next few weeks since I wont have time before carlisle to get to get it the clear bra put on. I need to let the paint cure for a few weeks.
Sorry I didn't state it correctly. Hopefully someone has done it.

On my PJ I have the hood 12'-15' width, the front bumper and behind each wheelwell as well with clear plastic. It is adhesive back but comes off easily without paint damage. Here is a link to one of the manufacturer's http://xpel.com/

Just got my clear bra on today. $530 for the entire front bumper, 18" on the hood and the fenders. I paid extra to have the section over the hood stripe done with a matt finish while the pieces on either side were gloss.
I need to get better at bargaining. I am no good at it.

For those looking for bargain, buysaleen or found a deal has 3M material for pretty cheap. However most installers want you to use their stuff

He is asking if anyone knows where to find a velcro-on bra that will fit while the paint cures,
before he gets the clear bra installed.

Getting a clear bra done right isn't cheap.
I've seen botched jobs with scratches and razor blade cuts in the paint of a $120,000 sports car. Not that this particular guy was cheap, but you need references or at least confidence.
I mean, would you negotiate with a heart surgeon?

Jim is correct. Make sure you pick a reputable installer who uses quality materials. I have been fortunate to use the same company since 2002.

Hey everyone thanks for trying to help me lol. I definitely want a guy that will do a good job for a clear bra....already put the bumper on but I have another issue I will explain at the end. I found a guy in NJ who charges like 950 and will do 10 @ 450 because we'll bring him more people as a car club who goes to tons of shows, etc.
Seems like he does good work, have to see it in person, I'm learning what to look for, especially if he goes all the way to the ends of bumper and wraps around the corners where rocks from tires mess them up.
A Gt Bra, well the Ford Mustang one, fits for the most part except for the bottom, because of the bumper's gt500 cross design the bottom doesn't match up and just dangles and the bottom clips on the end also don't hook. Just temporarily but its sitting at home til I have a show or can afford a clear bra.
It would make sense for them to make a cross between gt and gt500 bra to work with the Saleen Pj front ends but so far I haven't found one.
Another quote I got was $950 for a clear bra from a guy who does amazing work and has an indoor shop...so we'll see, he said he would work with us for lower pricing, still waiting.
Took it to a show this sunday and parked next to my friend's Shelby...almost identical bumpers.
1) I will need 3" fogs for the lower grill, correct? If so anyone know where I can get them in smoked
2) I have the v6 absorber under it, do I need to change to a gt, gt500, or saleen one to accomodate the bumper more? Reason why I ask is because I have a gap under the headlights that gets bigger towards the center and sitting next to the shelby it look like my bumper was pulled out by something which I think is the energy absorber foam

The 2007 PJs started life as standard production GTs. I don't believe Saleen changed the foam impact bar. With that said, I don't know if there is a difference between the foam used on a V6, GT, or GT500. All three could be the same foam.
Did you buy the bumper cover as part of a kit? Or did you purchase the cover as an individual item? There could be a bracket or support item missing? Feel free to post a photo of the problem you speak of.

okay perfect so I probably do need an upgraded foam, I will go ahead and get one up today when I get home, hoping the rain stops by then. I bought it from Stage3 as the bumper with all the hardware and chin spoiler, didn't include the lower air deflector thing that connects from the chin spoiler to the supplied extended brackets for radiator to connect to it.

Since the PJs and Heritage Series did not feature fog lights/ driving lights in the lower bumper cover, few Saleen owners will be able to help with this question.
As stated the GT500 had a similar lower bumper design with lights as well as the 2005-09 Roush series of Mustangs. Either of these vehicles or an aftermarket light manufacture may be able to supply something compatible.

How noticeable is the material line when you look at the black hood stripe? I've always wondered.
Thanks for sharing the photos! Looks like a great application!

The hood is actually three pieces with the middle one being a matte finish.
They had to replace the middle section because of a flaw in the matte finish. They took it all of the way to the shaker when they re-did it. You can't even tell that it is there now.
The paint edge between the black and the orange made it very easy for them to use that line as the transition from clear to matte to clear.
I was surprised to see so many photos. The PJ currently has top billing on their site!
