My PJ with only 6,300 miles has a leaking driver's side front strut.
Anyone have any ideas on what my options are?
Contact Dave Rivard and Jess Albright at MJA/SPV. Your PJ has a 3 year / 36 mile warranty for Saleen components. Exception being the 302 motor, 1 year / 12 mile coverage.
IE: They should either send you free replacement Racecraft struts OR send you to a local dealer for free Racecraft struts.

Will do. I have not heard anything back from them yet.

Not good news. All Saleen would do was sell me a new assembly (strut and spring) for $249. Not what I wanted to hear. Of course they said I should replace both sides. 6300 miles and having to replace struts is not good.
$500 (plus shipping) for a set of non-adjustable struts is not a bargain. I could have purchased a new set of Koni Sports (adjustable) for all four corners for $620 delivered.
The person I bought the car through has agreed to send me a check for $125. He did not have to do that but he did.
He also called Saleen and had the same results as me.
I have ordered a set of Koni SRTs (struts only) as replacements (they are on sale this month) and of course back ordered. These are comparable to the Bilstein HDs and cheaper.
We will see how they compare to the Saleen struts.
Later.

What was the reason SPV wouldn't stand behind the strut? Is it considered a wearable part?

My PJ was titled in February of 2007 so it is out of warranty. I was hoping for a little sympathy but no luck.
TireRack called me today to tell me that the Koni's were not expected to be in until the middle of July.
Found an entire set (all four) of the Koni Sports at Strano Parts in PA so I am going that route. Might as well just get them all done now and not worry about it.

Just a quick note, by 2007 Saleen Inc was no longer using Bilstein shocks/struts and Eibach springs.

Let us know how the Koni Sports work out! I was thinking about swapping a few suspension pieces in the future (after warranty goes).

Well I was going to be able to give the new shocks/struts a try at my first track day at Heartland Park in Topeka but we go hit with about 5 inches of rain in an hour so they had to cancel.
My next attempt will be July 7.
Nervous as heck but can't wait.
