Q: S281 SC Vacuum Plugs? - 2000

I noticed on the rear of my supercharger there is type of "vacuum tree" with about 5 vacuum tubes, some of them are plugged, some are not, my question is "Are the all supposed to be plugged" or some open, and if so, which ones are supposed to be plugged? any help with this would greatly appreciated, it has a real miss between 2100 and 3000 at times, and I'm wondering if this might have something to do with it? Thankyou

I will take pictures of the back of my series 1 tree. Did you check your gasket below the supercharger that seals it to the top of the intake manifold? Mine is worn and cracking and now extra air is being sucked into the intake, after the MAF, causing bank 1 to run lean and a check engine code. The miss between 2100-3000 sounds like it could be a spark plug issue, or a coil plug not giving the spark plug spark, causing it to miss. Are your plugs and coil plugs original?

I have changed the plugs, but the Coils are the same, but I have pulled one coil at a time when running to see if there was a dead spot but they all sounded the same, but that's not to say that one is bad, but I'm getting no codes when tested, and when I got the code the first time on cylinder 3, I replaced the plugs, and the injectors, the EGR, TPS sensor, cleaned the MAF , and the codes went away, it still has a miss, and just recently, its begun to idle badly, the warmer the engine gets to the point of actually stalling, the timing jumps around from 6 degrees to 22 degrees? I'm stumped !!

Could it be an injector issue?

I certainly hope not, they were just replaced about a month and half ago, and I'm sure you know was no easy task with the supercharger being there?

Original fuel filter?

That's what I was going to try next, it replaced about 5 years ago when I had to replace the a bad fuel pump, but it may have clogged up. The only problem is that when I get an the gas, it pulls hard, and I just assumed if the fuel filter was clogged up it would not let more fuel by, but I'm running out of options. but "Thanks for the suggestion", I'll feel like an idiot if that's what it is.

Did you happen to take a picture yet ? If you have, could you please post it so I can compare, with all the stuff I replaced, I fear I may have knocked of a plug , and I may be plugging something that shouldn't be, Thankyou!

Thanks for the pictures but I have one more question, the PCV on mine is hooked up to the center, what is the one on your system that is hooked up to the center ?

OxfordS281 11-27-2017 01:23 PM

The one on the center goes to a fuel line i believe or the EVAP tank in the fender well. I will get a picture of it in a little bit. I had to changed my gasket under the supercharger plate this week. What a mess! But the car runs great now.
