Default Q: Do replica Saleen wheels clear Borla exhaust? - 1995 S351

i was wondering if anyone knows if the american muscle saleen 18x10 wheels for the rear will clear the bola catback that the cars came with from saleen? i was hoping someone has tried it whether than me having to buy some just to find out. and i am trying to avoid having to use spacers and have the original borla catback cut by an exhaust shop.
the whole reason this has come up is because my car has the 18x8.5 original lemans wheels and i have like 5 sets of 265/295 tires i want to use on the car, so i was going to buy the american muscle 18x9/ 18x10 combo if they will clear the borla catback.

i tried to install my SVE series 1 wheels yesterday on the rear and they are 18x10.5 with 295 tires and they were hitting the tailpipes badly. i know the offsets are different.

any help would be appreciated.

Do "they" offer/print spec's of the backspacing or offset of their replica wheels?

For a rear 10" wheel, you want something at best as a +25 and at worst a +30.

Stay away from 10.5 and wider wheels.

ok cool. i just bought some 18x10 with a 28mm rear offset. I'm hoping the 295 35 18 tire will fit pretty good. thanks for your help, it was the deciding factor in my purchase a few minutes ago... do you happen to know which part number serpentine belt a 95 s351 naturally aspirated would use? thanks in advance

Offhand, no. A few items are recycled from 1994-95 5-liter Mustang. You can remove the original belt, look for a Motorcraft part number (if original) and give a ballpark measure as well.

We had an original belt off of a 1995 S351 a few weeks ago, I did not consider an inspection while it was removed, I should have.

Well... I'm late on this one since you have already ordered; however our 98 Saleen has the Saleen style AM 18x10 rears (unknown offset) with no issues with the exhaust clearance. Not sure if the Borla systems were the same for all years. I am eventually going to ditch them for a set of Saleen Lemans with the proper front and rear offsets. Then have the rears widened by someone like Weldcraft to fit a 315. Here is the best photo I have for now showing the wheel to exhaust clearance. You can see there is plenty of room with the 295's.

I'll shoot you a PM with my email address. I would be happy to send you a few pics. Our car has a lot of Maximum Motorsports suspension work done. As of right now it is almost completely apart getting a repaint.
