Default Saleen 97#17b

Here's a pic from 97#17b as is. It's included the Speedster top and soft tonneau luckily!

It will take a while to clean her up, repair scratches etc. etc. first I need to learn about Saleen cars :-)

I'll be back in 60 secs.....

I now own #97-014b! I live in Birmingham Al.
I traded two vehicles (worth about 3k a piece) and 950$ cash.

The car has the original engine with 79k built block, full bolt ons way too much to list, V2 vortech at 8lbs. Has 400rwhp as it sits on the street tune. The race tune is almost 600rwhp.

The paint is awful on the car, seats and carpet are rough, it's a daily driver for now, and runs excellent. It's scary fast. I've stayed with new 5.0 Coyotes, and I've beat a Porsche Carrera S, challenger RT, 350z etc. It's the fastest 2v I've ever seen.

Well, congratulations. I hope you save the old girl. I tried but could not work the deal.

We need you to join us on August 8 at Barber's Motorsports Park. Your car, Budget rental car, is the featured car this year. The sister car, 97-013B will be there. You can find out all the information you need to know here: www.saleenclubofamerica.com/event

Omg what happened to 97-14B? I'm almost positive that was Mark Moses old car back in early mid 2000's. That car was beautiful and lived a pampered life back then. I know bc I use to give him a boost/jump when we met at car shows here in Ohio lol. The car wasn't driven a lot back then. Mark owned an Indian, big dog chopper, American ironhorse chopper and Triumph dealership called Northcoast Choppers aka North Coast Motorcycle in Rossford Ohio. Awesome guy and babied all his toys. He currently owns Indian Motorcycle Charlotte. I believe he sold the car before he left Ohio. I lost touch with him several years ago and honestly failed to keep in contact with him unfortunately

Stumbled on your reply about the droopy splitter being easily fixed. Seems I have seen a post on that a long time ago but have not been able to find it again. If you could give a description of the process I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,

This is the link to how I fixed mine. There is a old style fix that involves a strap to the bumper support that I think is cheesy. I have repaired two this way with no issues. Just make sure to use the Locktite construction adhesive that lists plastic as one of the products it adheres to. The expensive SEM body epoxy is crap.

Hey Oxford,

You seem to know quiet a bit about this car. I've talked to the current owner and and suppose to go look at it on Saturday. Can you give me any more info about it. The current owner apparently purchased it after it was wrecked and repaired. Thank you in advance.

Did you see the pictures of it in this thread when it was damaged? Is the title clean or salvage?

I did see those pictures and that's what made me reach out to you (thank you for posting them.) I got a photo of the Georgia title and it is clean (not rebuilt or salvage.) Those pics looked like they were taken by insurance or salvage yard but title is clean. Thanks for any help.

I bought it. It drives fine and repairs look pretty good. Its a little rough around the edges in places but for the $ and uniqueness of it, it's worth it. Gonna use it as a daily driver.

I recently purchased 97-214 in Moonlight Blue. I am in the process of restoring the car. The suspension is shot so I have contacted Maximum Motorsports and Team Z Motorsports for all new chrome moly suspension and coilovers front to back. The car has been painted and the interior I am working on. I will post up pics when the weather clears up. I purchased the car out of Minnesota and it is now garaged in West Virginia. I can't wait to get it out on the curvy mountain back roads. There are a lot of nice rides on this site. I plan to visit frequently, so feel free to contact me. Brian

It's authentic. I own it and I'm restoring it. The rims have saleen speedlab engraved into them. I'm in the process of replacing the entire racecraft suspension with maximum Motorsports suspension front to back.

96-16B for sale fb marketplace Ramseur NC with a turbo kit and 149k miles

Originally black, painted what appears to be mystic and then finally moonlight blue? Either way not a 96-97 moonlight car but confusing none the less.

Default 97-214

Here are some recent pics of #97-214. The complete suspension was replaced with Maximum Motorsports front to back with coil overs and subframes. Rides real nice now. Currently I am swapping in PI heads ported from Fox Lake and a Bullit Intake. Comp Cams 262ah bumpsticks should make her run again. Shooting for 350rwhp. It's been a long process. When I bought the car it wasn't even driveable.

I actually own the saleen now, and it’s in great hands. I’ve done tons of repairs that were needed, the only thing left is the paint and interior. If you have any pictures from when you had it, to anything before please feel free to send me pictures.

Default 1997 S-351 32 Speedster

Just stumbled across this thread. I just purchased the Moonlight Blue S-351 Speedster, has 18,004 miles on it now. Need to clean it up and take care of a few mechanical things. Love the color!
