Sure is CR. In the pics it's still wearing the original magnesium wheels so I wonder when this was taken.

Looks awesome! I am in the process of doing a full saleen conversion to my yellow 98 cobra. I will be running the USA lemans wheels though.

It doesn't look like that currently. I'd love to know how long ago this was taken.

Vehicle was offered by a used car dealer before the accident took place.

How does the chassis and bumper numbers get mixed up? What does it mean the frame is stamped the same number?

Serial numbers can get confused for a number of reasons. If multiple cars are on the floor with the same body & exterior color. Or sloppy handwriting.

Saleen stamps the chassis with the conversion ID number. There are more "Saleen identifiers" than the engine compartment tag and interior plate. The chassis can be stamped multiple times as well (depends on year).

As this thread seems to have risen from the dead, I might as well post some of my ride too.

A tad over 24,000 miles on her currently.

Here's mine. Got it detailed then brought it to a little show. These are the best pics I got of her right now. Just hit 55,000 miles. I need to get the proper windshield decal. Anyone know where I can get one from?

Thanks Dave. Also, what about other decals such as the S281 hood decals and the rear/side window wreath decals?

Here's 96-222 before the heat hood and while I had the bbs wheels. Has the speed lines on now since the other wheels won't clear the alcons I'm going to install

Oh wow, what a blast from the past. I considered buying this car back in 2001-2 when it was in Oak Brook, IL. I remember back then it showed some wear and tear and decided to just keep the '98 Cobra I still have. Where is it now? Also notice the photographer shares my last name...how weird!

Anyway, just thought I had to post. Have loved SN95 Saleens since my teens and thought I'd browse this forum just to start looking at them again. Neat to see that car.

To my knowledge 98-075 has never been in IL........until now. It was in GA and then FL with the last owner. If I remember right I would be the 3rd owner of it.

Thank you for the complements.

Steve has his name plastered enough places on the car. I never liked the 3' long one across the front. Too much for me.

My saleen cobra tribute...
Just finished with the supercharged saleen cobra transformation. Tracked down everything to make it as authentic as possible, even the saleen/borla shotgun tailpipes. I did do some unique touches to make it my own (export tails and mirrors, custom made saleen style c-pillars, powdercoated speedway black metallic lemans wheels - widened 2" on the rears by weldcraft, etc...)
When I first got the car back in 2011:

After tracking down a saleen kit that was already fitted and prepped to avoid any issues, lemans wheels, etc:

Just found and refinished a set of speedline mags and a busted up t1 spoiler...
