Installed Rear Seat Delete
Just installed Tru-Fibers Fiber-Glass rear seat delete. Took about 1.5 hours to install. Just ordered some auto carpet to cover with. Very minor sanding needed on edge for nice fit.

Looks good. I just ordered the unit for the X brace and the rear deck cover after I saw your last post. The packaging from them was outstanding and the quality of the product is superior as well. Wish they made a front splitter for our vehicles.

Yes from Trufiber. I have the Steeda X brace but the TruFiber rear seat delete kit does not fit it. Plan on making my own X brace.

What are your plans for finishing it? Body color or interior color?

That is going to look really good Wyatt. When I first saw it I thought you might paint it. IMHO, the carpet will look MUCH better and "cleaner".

I fitted the Ford Boss 302 rear seat delete kit with X brace to my '06. It fitted really good and looks great.
It came in a huge box and cost me heaps to get it to Australia Tony

I looked at that kit but the price kept me from ordering it. I believe the Trufiber kit I purchased was designed for that X brace so I may try to mimic it when I build the brace.

Hey Tony,
Did you notice any difference in the handling after the X-Brace. I am thinking of installing this roll bar with the X-brace. The guy I talked said he did not notice a change after the install of the brace, but that could be do to the roll bar. Here is a photo of it. Thanks,

A rear "package tray" X brace does not provide any real structural advantage due to its cross attaching points are simply the rear seat lower frame work and the upper seat frame / package tray. It looks super cool but doesn't provide any noticeable difference. For a brace to be structural it need to be attached to a structural piece of the car like a frame point or reinforced pillar...which is why all real roll cages are welded to the frame points of the car and usually gusseted to the A and B pillars. Heck on the World Challenge Series cage we are currently build we removed the package tray entirely.

By the way, your rear seat delete looks great! The nice thing about it is the anticipated weight savings. Did you weigh the rear seats vs. the delete?

Funny you ask that. Allot of the online parts houses state you will save 30 pounds. The weight of rear seat and brackets came to just 18 pounds total. The Fiber Glass delete weights 10 pounds, savings= 8 pounds.

So Jason, you are saying you know more about structural engineering then Fords R&D department that designed the Boss LS? Lol.....

While I dont appreciate your humor, I will tell you that there are a ton of parts put on our Mustangs that arent engineered the greatest perfection....if they were there wouldnt be an "aftermarket" industry. If Ford's R&D department made everything to perfection why is there suspension and chassis companies that make a killing building epic parts to improve these cars? At the attaching points of the Ford brace, we cant see any real benefit at all other then the potentual squeak.

Only taken nearly five years to post these pics
Without going to the extreme of fitting a full cage "which is illegal on the public roads in Australia" I decide to go with the FPP unit Probably as Jason states is probably not the best design but hey it works in my situation. It is well made and fits extremely well and to this day hasn't squeaked. And somewhere for my fire extinguisher. Whilst I know weight reduction is good, all we seem to do is add more ie: 6 speed gearboxes, larger brakes, suspension stiffening, watts link, super chargers etc. And when most of us enjoy our cars on the highway as well there is only so much you can do so I will settle for the 10lbs lost Sorry about pics but harness bar and POV camera got in way.

Hey Tony,
Personally im not concerned about your x brace, as it isnt structural or should not interfere with you in an accident. But your harness bar disturbs me in that everything about it isnt safe. Your stap attaching points seem to be (from the pic I can see) unsafely mounted, and entirely at the wrong angle. The bar itself seems to be bolted odly, id like to see more pics of the attaching points. All in all bud, im only putting my opinion in to help save you from injury.
