Default Photos: 2004 S281 Cobra in Mystichrome

Not the best lighting, but here are the pix of our car. Only Mystichrome cobra vert Saleen built (2 coupes). 18 2004 Cobras total. Not many IRS Saleens in existence. Fun car.

Well I guess thank you for not buying it, ha ha.... Yes we are the new owners of it, and it has moved to MA.

Beautiful car. I thought Saleen put their interior and brakes on the 03/04 Saleen Cobra's. Was this an extra option or am I way off base here?

I don't know, but mine has the mystichrome seat inserts, and OEM cobra brakes. Maybe the thought was good enough package.

Same stock interior and brakes on this saleen cobra currently on ebay as well:

The 1996-99 and 2001 Cobra based S281s retained their stock seats, front brakes and gauge cluster.

During the above years one could order the Saleen Recaros and the front brake upgrade if they wanted.

With the introduction of the Saleen seats used in GT chassis cars, the Recaros were not offered to the public in 2003 and 2004.

The front brake upgrade should have been available, but I have not seen a 2003-04 S281 Cobra with it.

Beautiful car! Definitely one to hang on to. I know what you mean about the IRS too. I have a 04 Cobra. Such a great mix of performance. And in your case, looks to match!

There will be once the 2015s arrive. Great car, good luck with it. The styling bar looks different to me than on other Saleen speedsters. Is that stock Saleen?

This is a Anniversary Speedster package. Debuted on the 2003 SA20. The 2004 Speedster package was this package. The styling bar is connected to the cover, not the car.

The regular styling bar was still available in 2004 as a standalone option.

Yes, it is the "saleen anniversary tonneau" as described on the window sticker. And for what it's worth, it makes the rear view mirror completely useless.

Well wish you the best of luck. It would have to be a big big number to pull this one from our grip. Now if New England weather will turn already to even think of being able to drive it again.....

Sorry Skittles, you are only allowed to own 2 rainbow Saleens at a time.

To the OP, are you planning on bringing to to either the MCA 50th anniversary show in
Charlotte or to Carlisle this year?

Depends if I keep this of not. Since I don't trust the current state of saleen right now it would be s gt350 or 360 Modena Spyder

If actual performance is important, the 350 will run circles around the 360. If the allure of the look and prestige is important, 360's seem to be a decent value. As I'm sure you know, try to avoid the major service intervals. I know what my choice would be of those 2.... really easy as I bleed blue.

More of a showpiece, 500 miles a year driven. I just don't know how bad it will be for the Ferrari to sit so much.
