I am still around, and I visit this site at least 3 times a week....

My car is in the new saleen book starting on the 1994 chapter that is called enter the 351. My car is 1994 #37, the only red s 351 ever made with gold stripes and gold wheels. Shoot me an email if you wanna talk s351s.

Hi, I'm new here too. I recently got a Rio Red 95 S351 N/A. A slight upgrade from my 97 Cobra-ha ha. My husband also has a 95 S351 but his is a R-Code so I had to try to keep up. I will post a picture when I figure out how--any tips?? This sight doesn't seem to get much attention-unlike our cars. What's up with the S351 bunch??[/img]
Hi all, I have been blessed with 2 S351 Saleens. I have a 95 speedster conv. T code triple black # 102 and I just traded my 94 coupe Rcode for a 98 S351 speedster conv. triple black # 11. This one was the first 351 produced in 98 and is 1 of 22 total and 1 of 12 speedsters. I love these cars. I am getting ready to sell my 95 Saleen if there is anyone out there interested. Alot of upgrades.

I'm sure it will not be hard to sell. There was a guy looking for one here in the For Sale section last week. Not sure what he wants. They are addictive. My husband got his 95 S351 Rio Red R-Code last year and I just got its twin but a T-code a few months ago.His has alot of mods so I plan on keeping mine pretty well stock. Maybe slip a S-trim on in-we'll see. I know it will be hard seeing your go!!

Bart, did that '98 S351 #98-11 come out of the San Francisco Bay Area?
I recall a while back I was supposed to look at a '98 S351 Speedster (I think it was #11). Anyway, I passed on it and ended up buying two Saleens instead (86-012 & 95-109). They are addicting aren't they? How much are you looking to get for the '95?

Yes my 98 did come out of Frisco. It needed some TLC but that's what I enjoy doing so it worked out very good. When I sell my 95 T code speedster # 102 I would like to try for around 28 or 29K. I have had several offers before I decided to sell for around the 28k area. All suspension up grade to N2 strutes and shocks, Sub frame connectors, 36lbs injectors, pro-M Optimizer for recalibration of the injectors and air fuel mixture, Pro-M Electric fan by pass control, Wheel up grade to the speedline magnisium 18x 8.5 front and 18x 10 rear. wheels like new with tire upgrade 255-35x18 front and 285-35x18 rear. Original Dunlop SP-8000 with 80% tread left. Engine has been polished and detailed completely. Award winning show car. Barstang@aol.com.

Almost forgot Bart. I wanted to share the dyno sheet from John's S351. The Red convertable...so here you go (before and after) the old AFR is the black line "smiley face".

Roughly an 80 rwhp/60rwt gain.

I have a 95 S351 non-supercharged coupe. It is number 23. I have read that there were only 89 non-supercharged coupes built that year. I read that there were 43 supercharged, and 7 conv. I also saw where there only 2 SR's built in 95.

Don't quote the numbers. Going by memory.

Our car is black with black interior. It has the Magnesium wheels, silver, and the car has silver Saleen markings.

We are in the central NC area.

Yeah those numbers are correct. I also have a 95 S351 N/A Coupe, mine is # 75 and my husband has a 95 S351 R-Code coupe # 21. They are both Rio Red. Liz says they made 14 Rio Red Coupes that year. We are in Central FL. Hopefully rainy season will end soon so we can enjoy driving them some more. My car is stock with chrome speedline 18x8.5 & 18x10 with 255/45 & 295/35 BFG's. His car is very modified with the S-trim replaced with a YS-trim. It is a work in progress (money pit!), but that's the way it is with cars when you start messing with them.

OK. So I am in the Central NC area. Any other S351's in this area?

Anyone know of any car shows in or near the NC area. Maybe one that Steve and Liz plan to attend??

I am aware of Round Up at the Border in Dillon SC on April 1st 2006. This is a Mustang show, and I went last year. Was very hot, but overall, pretty good show.

Later Daniel

If you are in the NC area, please let me know if you want to get together sometime with the Saleens. (NOT TO RACE!)

Your car is sweet! We've got a 1994 S351 #40 convertible. Originally bought new by a 90 year old woman. No, I'm not kidding. Red with black interior.

Default 98 S351R #21

Hey guys, I have a 98 351R and 89 Saleen Mustang #143 that both were in the Saleen Book by Brad Bowling. I met Brad at the Charlotte motorspeedway for the photo shoot of both cars what a nice guy. The S351 is the first one for the 98 chapter, its in black. This car was also in the Gumball 3000 across America from NY to LA back in 2002, Brad also did a little story of that in the 98 chapter. This car was also featured on Speed vision's American Muscle Cars, Debbie Blaylock called me up on this one and told me about what they where looking for, I said sure I'll do it to be on TV. The white with gold stripes and gold mesh wheels is in the 89 chapter. I've owned this car since high school and still have it with 80,000 miles on it. The 98 S351 is pampered a little more since after the rally across America it now has around 11,000 miles.

If anyone has a 94-99 S351R you are looking to sell let me know. I would
like one with low miles and no mods. I've had several and am back in the
market once again. Thanks.

I own 3 S351's. 96 #13 99 #14, and 99 #46. I'm trying to find the owner of 94 #35. It was last known in Colorado.

Mark -- that's like my dream car!

I remember Steve Saleen's yellow S351 all too well -- that was some car -- and yours sure reminds me of that.

P.S. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks!!! I saw the article in Motor Trend when they came out and knew I had to have one!!!They had a write up about a yellow one! I still have the car and the magazine too! I got the car when it was 6 months old and the boy was in jail and going to lose it! I traded him my 89 SSC and paid the yellow car off!!! He then got out of jail a few months later and totaled my 8,000 mile SSC! # 142!! ( Thanks again for the kind words!) Mark

I can recall the Motor Trend article with the yellow SR well!

I take it you painted the door inserts and installed the SR wing?

As an FYI to readers... The said Motor Trend article is scanned and .pdf'ed for future release.

Yes. Talk to Jim.

I believe the story that was related to him went something like... The limo driver that picked up SS for the contest ceremony was pregnant. On the way there the limo got a flat tire. Did SS change the flat, in turn making him disheveled for the event?

Something like this... I don't think I've come to the point where I'm imagining stuff, yet. Then to... Maybe.

I can recall Jim and I talked about 94-0094 when it was on eBay... maybe 2 years ago. Then there was some reason the car/event came up with a conversion he had with LS... and something like the above statement was then related back to me in a passing conversion about something else.

So... I could be mistaken... or crossed cars if the above doesn't hold true for 94-0094.

I must say that I love how the yellow wheels are sticking out from under the cover. Even when covered... it's announcing, "yeah, I'm not a regular car." Silver just doesn't do the same.

I take that you painted the '87 recently? How long have you been away from racing? Looks good. Has a nice timeless/period look. (Does that make sense?) Wheel choice, body, paint style. Is this a Ford Red?

P.S. I like the rocking chair.

Dave, The silver looks good to me!!! Just had the drag car painted ! I'm thinking about putting 89-93 silver stripes that run on the ground effects! I have had the car apart the past 2 seasons! It used to have a 306 fuel injected engine! My best time all motor was 7.26 in the eight mile. I have a 395 Stroker Windsor for it now! I want to run 7.0 Headsup with it now! The color is 94 Performance red. I don't know how the rocking chair ended up in that pic!!! It has since been moved back in my office!! ( The pic - I had my Son's 06 SC Saleen sleeping in the upstairs garage until a few months ago! Its in his garage now! I got an extra bay again just not enough funds for a Fox Saleen yet!) Mark
