Default Help: Series VI supercharger coolant flush? - 2007 S281 SC

Good afternoon everyone. I'm really new to the Saleen and bought a 2007 S281 SC recently with 12,000 miles. :-) I've been wanting one for about 20 years and... Well, here it is and I finally got it with wife's approval of course.

So I need to change the coolant in the supercharger because I don't think it has been done, based on time obviously and not mileage. Shop will only touch radiator coolant and not supercharger as they're not familiar with it nor will their pump work with 3/4 hose. So can anyone give me pointers on draining and refilling heat exchanger/supercharger? I have a few ideas, but I do not have any sort of pump like they have at the garage for the radiator, etc. I don't want to mess anything up and have reviewed the directions below for the supercharger section, still a little uneasy...

Thank you for any pointers. I'm sure it can be done manually and maybe even with the simple Preston fill/flush kit?

The Series VI installation manual instructions are pretty good. If you don't have access to the pressure tool (some auto parts places loan or rent them) you can use your intercooler pump to push water through if it does not have the delay timer. That is how I have done it. Otherwise I do it the way the directions say. The pump would be easiest for you I think.

Default Thank you Michael.

I'll inquire about pressure tool, but will probably do it the way you have done. Does not seem that difficult. Thank you again.

After flushing the system, we recommend only running about 1/4 coolant, and the rest water, or distilled water if possible. Your IAT's will love you for this. Now if you live in a freezing climate, run 1/2 gallon coolant, but in the summer I would run the previous noted mixture.

Congrats on your purchase. Tell your shop to call us if they need anything at all, we'd be happy to guide them with anything they need.
