Just like the title states.

Thanks in advance for responses.

I know of at least two SN-95 Saleens with IRS swaps that run stock Saleen wheels!

Just for clarity, I'm curious about fox saleens and whether or not the 16" wheels will fit over the cobra rear brakes and whether or not the wheels will stick out of the wheel well too far. Just trying to gauge if I'm going to need to change to a custom set of wheels with a larger diameter (17) and custom offset/backspacing.

If I remember correctly the 03 cobra irs is 3 inches wider than a stock fox rear (obviously 1.5 per side).
I believe the saleen rear is close to that at 1.25 wider per side than a stock fox.

Shouldn't be too much to over come, but you will probably need to roll the fenders, not sure if you are willing to do that.

I don't see why the wheels wouldn't fit. But if you are willing to goto custom wheels (which I would suggest against on a fox saleen), you are probably all in on this project. Therefore when you pick up the rear, just put a wheel on it.

There is fox irs info out there, but you probably are going to have to do your own math for that set of wheels.
16's will fit over the rotors if that is one of your concerns. People have used the sn95 16 inch ponies with no trouble, those are the cheap looking 94/95 5 stars. So check the specs on those and compare them to the baskets.

I doubt the spokes (or what would be spokes) will hit the calipers since the wheels are on rear discs now.

IRS wheel fitment usually requires the person doing the swap to find some other wheels that fit and calculate if your wheels are similar enough rarely do any two people use the same wheels since the irs is more of a custom mod.

Here is some good reading:
http://forums.corral.net/forums/road...heel-pics.html

But as I said, you are going to have to take some of the known wheel fitments and come up with the conclusion on your own, the likelihood you find someone with 30 year old 8 inch baskets on a fox or even the ARE 5 stars with an irs is pretty low.

Based on the fact that the saleen rear is only a 1/4 inch more narrow than an irs per side (or at least I think, please fact check that) and you only have 8 inch wheels, leads me to believe there is a good chance it will work for you.

Just a follow up and fyi for those who were wondering. I picked up cobra irs rear and wanted to confirm that the Saleen 16" ARE basket weave wheels do in fact fit over the cobra irs rear brakes with no clearance issues whatsover.

Thanks to all who contributed to my thread.
