Default Barricade Push Bumper II

Drove Barricade over to my Father-In-Laws house to get some help with
my 50 lbs newest design & now "PB II" is just about done!

It goes to Powdercoating next week.

Took all day moving & clamping, moving & clamping, etc etc etc
until i was sure it was sitting perfect. Then it was marking and
drilling it to fit the support brackets.

I needed it perfect.

This second version (update) is 4" wider than the PB-I.

I also added another PA/Siren speaker up front (now have 2).
I cant tell you how many people would comment about the one circle "thing" in the lower grill and how it didnt look right being on one side (it was mounted to the inside PB rail). Funny thing was it was only the women
who would notice. It got me thinking...since the system will support two ....why not?
SO I picked up another PA/Siren speaker.

Due to the differences in the newer PB-II placement I had to refab the
siren brackets anyways. You can see two there now.

Most police cars have one. Now those same people will complain about how loud its going to be.

Barry with his tongue out:

Ever since I made the first one I wanted it a tad wider....
I am very happy with this one.

Should be done next week.

Looks nice. Just one question though, since this is a "tribute" car do you get any flak from real police when you drive around in it? They don't mess with you as if you were impersonating a police officer? Just curious that is all.

I am a Police Officer. There are no impersonation issues since I have those credentials.

I do have magnets though in case anyone else needs to operate the car (wife or...?).
You can place them where ever:

I dont use them though....but I figured if the car ever changed hands this needed to be addressed.

and its ok...I get asked this question ALL the time.

Dropped it off to powder coat today. Will be ready by Monday.

Do you know the guy with the real one here in Virginia? He actually has magnets that cover perfectly over the police badging that says "Barricade.". That would be good to have incase someone else has to drive it, but it seems it would be unlikely.

Yeah...His name is Jim Ortte. Lives there in Prince William County.
I reached out to him when he bought the car from Jeff.

"Police" cars can be driven by civilians if they are "out of service" and marked as such.

this forum is a hive of information to new Saleen owners like myself

and also images posted like these of your new push bar also help others out, again like myself with ideas

Those car ramps you are using are cool, i was about to get the normal steel ones until i saw what you were using

I went onto "Race Ramps" WEB site and am impressed, just what i want

What size are they ?

Also, very cool car you have, good work.

Awesome!
I got the 56" Race Ramps for clearance. They are made of some type of foam.
Very light weight but strong. I forgot where I got them....
I think I did a google search and ordered the cheapest I could find that had free shipping.

Exclamation

I made it. Drew it out, cad'd it then water cut and welded. Last was powdercoat.

Just to give you an idea...this is PB#1 after tacking it together.
In this picture I had just set the bars in it to see how it was looking.
next up was welding. You have to be careful though cause the heat makes it want to twist on you.

Since it was 2" to the bolt hole I turned the backets from outward to inward on PB#2.
That gave me another 4" on the spread.

No one makes a pushbumper for an S197 2005-2009 Mustang.

You will have to fabricate one or adapt an existing one.
Looks better if you make it.

Would you consider selling your PB1 and would it fit a 2011 Shelby GT500 to the best of your knowledge?

Your lower fascia need to be at least 4" tall to support the rails and have access to your mounting brackets. A GT500 will have an intercooler taking up that spot. You would need to buy a different kind of cooler and mount it in another place.

I sold PB1 to a guy in California about a year ago. 281 Motorsports fabricated the guys support arms (based on mine...i can post up snaps of it if you need them) and mounted it for him. I think he also had the intercooler issue and they fixed that for him as well. I have no idea what or how they did it....Jason??

I could make more but it is nutty expensive. The metal, water cutting and labor (i had a pro weld it up) is about 400. Add another 100 for powdercoating.
It just under 50 pounds so shipping ran me over 110. All that and you still havent made the brackets or moved the cooler. Plus that is actual costs and doesn't include any $ for my time and work.

I think this is something you must make yourself to keep the costs down.

On a brighter note - I have since seen a guy make the brackets longer so they exit out the front bumper fascia. He then drilled holes in it and mounted a verticle plate that he then bolted to the sides of a regular old store bought push bumper.

While it didnt have the mean look (with all the lightning holes and size etc) it was a pushbumper! I dont know how sturdy it was...my guess is aesthetics only but its an option!
