Josh, we are real proud of our involvement in your car and all the mods you have done on your own. I know Derrick (previous owner) would be proud your taking good care of that car! That car is a gem! Sweet poster in the background! !!!

This is because your '05 exhaust tips (I'm thinking these are '05 due to the valves) are 41.5 inches center to center and the diffuser was made for the '07 and up exhausts which are 43.5 inches center to center. These diffusers really don't fit the '05 exhausts well.

I'd keep an eye on the CF around the openings as it may turn yellow quickly with the exhaust heat. Hope you get away with it due to the larger than typical openings he made.

I just had the chance to read through this thread and WOW your car is amazing! The mods you selected take the car to another level, and that's saying something considering how awesome these cars are stock.

Well done!

Good point. Maybe I will put another tailpipe on the one that isn't on center and turn it a bit so it directs it out the opening better.

Thanks! I am really pleased with how it is turning out. Only items left to do is a front splitter and maybe meth injection. I am sure I will find more things though!!

My boot up screen in the new gauges. They also allow for a custom gauge to be uploaded so I am working in Photoshop to try and recreate the look of the Saleen boost and AIT gauges. I suck at photoshop.

Looking great Josh. If you ever make it down here for a Thursday night shop night we can cut those exhaust tips, swivel them to point towards the holes and reweld them.

Josh, how are you getting the air temp reading without a PLX module? Is that inlet air temp from the OBDII port?

I can't remember is the air temp sensor that feeds the PCM after the supercharger?

I like the temp gauge look. How many individual .JPG files did you have to make?

Yes, Saleen splices into the MAF sensor so that it reads from the relocated IAT sensor. Otherwise the ECM wouldn't be adjusting the timing based on the right IAT.

Thanks. It was a lot of work. I had to make 100 jpg files rotating the needle 2.8deg and adjusting the digital value the same amount.

Gotcha. I put a PLX on my Dodge truck so I guess I am comparing apples to oranges.

Got this coming in next week.

http://www.nakidparts.com/id78.html

Since I have a 2005, I have vacuum actuated exhaust. Doing some research it is very similar to the "NPP" Bi-mode exhaust used on Z06 vettes. This controller should allow me to either keep the valves open or shut with a push of a button. I will program it into my homelink button on my rearview mirror for easy access.

I really like the bi-mode exhaust. Some complain of a rattle, but in my experience it has been associated with moving from a start. The vacuum goes in and out since load is changing causing the valves to rattle a little bit. This should solve that issue and allow me to have a loud exhaust when I want it and a silent, drone free exhaust on the highway.

Couple more things done. Moved the battery to spare tire area, relocated amp, added methanol/water injection, and fixed the "dusting seats." Driver seat side bolster foam was actually ripped so I repaired that too. Upholstery shop wanted $120 per seat to fix. I did both for $20.

For the bottom seat cushion I just used plastic door edge channel on the sharp edges as shown in the picture. Where the foam was damaged I used an upholstery adhesive.

How did the OEM ambient lighting kit install go? Effort, time, amount to disassemble, cost?

It's was a little tricky getting the wiring figured out. I couldn't find much online so with a little trial and error (mostly error) I got it all working and connected it to my headlights so it turned on with my lights. Other than the tricky wiring it's all pretty straight forward. I bought it used from a member in another forum who wrecked his car for $50 so it wasn't very expensive. Buying the parts new are $300+.

Looks great Josh. Are you going to be re-tuning for the meth/water injection or just using it for more cooling?

Thanks! I will be retuning. I have the safe injection system in case of failure so the engine will be protected.

I was just planning on making a few highway pulls and check A/F and timing. Those are two things are are unlocked in my tune that I can mess with. Good thing is that is already came with a 100 octane tune so I can just start there. How much does this Rockford place charge and can they tune with Diablo?

I know the guy in Rockford works on Diablo tuners. Not sure on his prices but he is the best around here for tuning Mustangs. I took Barricade and one other vehicle to him and was really impressed. He spends as much time adjusting drivability issues as he does HP parameters. I will PM you his info since I am not sure what the forum rules are on posting non-supporting vendor details.

Do you have a way to monitor knock sensor output? I would watch this as close as you watch AF when testing. Are you running the bypass valve solenoid on the Safe Injection setup?

Ok, sounds good. I have zero drivability issues right now, but would be interested in seeing what's going on with the tune. Since this thing was all done at Techco it's quite the mystery.

Yes, I am using supercharger bypass solenoid.

I have the flow monitor and bypass solenoid on my truck and luckily I have never seen it work other than testing it with the engine off. I am hesitant to ever run the truck without a full tank of meth/water because I have a hard time believing that that little 1/4" tube on the solenoid is going to effectively release all the boost if the meth/water flow is gone.

All your mods look great. Did you have to take the seat apart, or just remove it and flip it over?

Thanks. It isn't too hard. You just need to remove the plastic side trim which is 3 clips and a screw. After that, the seat leather is hooked on some bars that are attached to the seat. Pretty straight forward. So you basically do take the whole seat apart.

Default Got another Saleen: Techco touched 2005 S281 S/C

Ok, time for my list of winter mods I just finished installing. I think this is the whole list. I have been working on it since the end of December almost every weekend so I may have forgot something. Anyway, took it out for the first time on Saturday and what a difference! Handling is amazing and the power is consistent with the cooling of the meth injection. Shifts great too! I get a little noise from the torque arm at around 60 mph and it can get slightly annoying, but is silent at other speeds.

- GT500 8.5 qt oil pan
- Cortex Torque Arm
- T56 Magnum XL rebuild. Installed new CF blocker rings on all gears and bronze fork pads on 1-4. Also replaced 2nd and 3rd gear and replaced 1-4 synchro assemblies with improved design. Shifts like a dream.
- T56 lockout solenoid and module. This senses vehicle speed so when you are above 5mph you can't accidentally put it in reverse. Pure awesome.
- GT500 clutch master cylinder
- Brisk spark plugs
- Bobs axle breather
- BMR A-arms 19mm 3/4" taller
- 2014 Mustang spindles to accept 19mm ball joint
- Steeda bump steer
- Steeda double adjustable end links
- Frankentensioner. This uses two stock tensioners to increase tensioner travel and increase tension. I combined it with the Mosaleen setup to get best of both worlds. I went from around 15-16 psi to 17+ psi! I was using the Roush tensioner with Mosaleen before this new setup.
- Corner balanced car. Ended up with 51.5/48.5 F/R and 50.04 CW.

Looks amazing Josh. Are you planning on being in Peoria for the SVT show the end of April?

Thanks. I will try and make the SVT show. I wasn't too impressed with the last one though...
