LMFAO !!! Come one - you know that if they were more made, people would be fighting for them !!! But w/ Saleen being rare already and then you through in a rare color, it makes this the Saleen Unicorn in my opinion !! I have yet to attend a Saleen Event or have seen pics online of a Saleen Event w/ another Legend Lime Saleen. I have only seen two others so far on the web (both were 3v models). One was with member GOTJOLT, he resides in south CA. The other one in my opinion was ragged out by a kid in LA, as this link clearly demostrates:

As per Saleen - Here are the build #'s of Legend Lime Saleens:

Convert SC 5
Coupes SC 7

Convert NA 3
Coupes NA 16

Note From Saleen: This color became very popular after the announcement of Fords decision to stop producing this color. We had people from all across the US looking for these units. As you can see, not too many were produced.

Over the years I try search to see if I can find maybe one of the ones above being sold. However I think I have old seen 2 3v's that look like they had been altered with other manufactures parts, hence making them Frankenstein cars. But I have never seen another SC model or Vert...

Default Unuasal Saleen

Thanks fellas, I have been looking for another Saleen mustang to got with my white 89 Saleen and 00- XP8 and JUST sometimes you look for something different! Yes, Saleen in itself is different and the best BUT not everyone can find an Mysti-chrome/extreme rainbow! Don't forget Sunburst Gold not popular and few made. I should have bought the 2000 Bright Atlantic Blue S281 that I saw last year. Sometimes you just have to reach out to the unaccepted. No doubt that there are many great colors out there! Thanks for the input! Always searching.

In October I was looking hard for a Saleen. Found an 05 green AT 3v one at a dealer in Indianapolis Indiana. Great price, but found out the car had been wrecked and now is sold. I thought the color was sharp. Ended up buying one in November 06 Torch Red automatic 281SC with black roof and upgraded wheel option w 15k miles.

I thought there was a lime legend S/C for sale in Portland or Seatle last year at a Mazda dealer on criagslist?

There was also a gold 99-04 S281SC vert for sale on craigslist last month ago (maybe 2 months ago) with low miles that needed a fuel pump.
http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/2717538246.html

My unicorn would be a bright atlantic blue S351.

I love the help and stories! I have been calling the owner of the gold stang with the hefty price but he works on the road. Another member stated that the lime was heavily damaged but sold. I appreciate the eyes. I like Bright Atlantic Blue just again hard to find! regards, Tom

That member said one in Indy. The one I remember was in Portland or Seatle and iirc was an S/C stick for $25k ish.

I had a bright atlantic blue 98 Cobra. I thought that was the best blue Ford ever had until Sonic blue came out (at least I think that is the blue I am think of.)

I don't have bumper #'s for the Limes. However if you are looking for badging for a 06 Saleen - u have the left engine bay plaque on the firewall in front of the passenger side. You have the dash board plaque on the passenger side all the way on the right side. If you have a Vin # like any other year u can call up Saleen (Speedlab) and provide them that and they can verify its authenticity.

Very first 05' Saleen I ever saw and test drove was a Legend Lime S281 Coupe here at Sil Terhar Ford in Colorado. There is one out here somewhere but the only options it had was being a Saleen. I really liked that car but I am a million options kind of guy so it did not work for me.

Despite what GREG says, it is a nice color.

Thanks for the input! The male bantering is all good! It's like being in a fraternity we are all passionate about our Saleens'. I know what you mean about options but I love the color. My XP8 has everything. This Legend Lime is bare with only standard issue. Thanks, Tom.

Last time I was at Knotts I think 05 or 06 The Lime guys got together and there were one or two Saleen in the mix. Try a site called Mustang world and look for the pics from Knotts 2005 or 2006.

Rick, I do like the Lime cars just like messing with Chris. And glad to see on here more :)

They are a Lime green Saleen in London, Kentucky. I don't know if its a 3v or SC. It has the wing on it, but I haven't been close enough to see if its supercharged.

Here's a Southern California 3-Valve in Legend Lime, #06-892.

Forum member gotjolt usually shows with the Legend Lime Registry in the Mustang GT class at Knott's. These pics are from the 2009 SMS Car Show and Saleen Rally...

I'll vouch for its existence... :)

Hey all, those are some nice looking photos Jim if I do say so myself
The Lime Saleen is indeed very rare. I am hoping to make it to Knotts again this year, if I can get the time off from work. If I do, I will be with my fellow Legend Limers.
Coach good luck on your search!

To my knowledge, they never made an S351 in bright atlantic blue. I was told that Saleen made 21 cars all together in that color. The unicorn of the bunch was Haps 98 Speedster, it was the only 98 BAB convertible they made.

I guess my Grabber Blue 11 is a unicorn since it's the only one.

Spoke to soon....

I found this Pic on Mustang 5.0 (Nov. 06 Article) and had this caption for it (I guess this was a Saleen Testing/Marketing car?)

Saleen was a new sponsor for the this year's Sebring festivities. The company brought out a pair of its supercharged S197s to display, and when Michael Albano's early Saleen ran into problems the company loaned one to him. Saleen rep Rob LeFrancois said he didn't want to see a Saleen owner's weekend end so shortly, so he handed over the keys to this Legend Lime looker and made the guy's weekend: http://www.mustang50magazine.com/eve...way/index.html

There was a Legend Lime R&D car that ended up getting crashed & trashed... I don't know if it's the car pictured above or not, but at the end of its life it had a Scenic Roof. I've got pictures of it somewhere when it was for sale for parts.

Default lime green saleen

Wicked and others,

I looked at the lime green mustang in London, Kentucky this morning. It's a 3 valve saleen. It also has stock front calipers as well. It's a very pretty car. It's been taking care of.

Default Legend Lime

This is the car I was going to OK to buy and had the airplane ticket for. Talk to the dealer on th 24th of Feb flying out on the 25th. Dealer called me the evening of the 24th and the car was bought. This guy bought it for $ 18500 now wants $28K!!! Nice profit! Says he wants a Shelby--Bull. How in 6-7 weeks you cahnge your mind? He bought it knowing it did not have a S/C. I loved the color and had all you guys looking for me! Bitter yeah but he never wanted it but to turn a profit! Venting!
I have moved on and just bought a 01 Mineral Gray Vert with speedster package, S/C, both covers low mileage and in great shape. Max grip,13 inch brakes the works. Regards, Tom

Welcome to the forums and congratulations on your purchase!

McCrackin Ford in Pittsburgh PA stocked and sold 05-0100 back in 2004. This was a Lime 2005 S281 3-Valve coupe. There is a Lime 2005 or 2006 in the area wearing Supercharged trim. I've seen it on the road and in two body shops over the past few years.

Enjoy!

When I was purchasing my Dark Candy Red in March this year, there was an 05-06 lime SC in Chicago area I believe...I would have purchased that, but Red was my 1st choice.

I do like the lime a lot...

Keep in mind once the eBay auction closes and once the craigslist ad is removed, the above links have no value.
