Looks great!

From my understanding there will be two S351 offerings. An S351 Supercharged (as pictured above) and an S351 Extreme.

What's the difference? Is the Extreme forged internals?

Why does it have a 2010-12 front nose, but is badged as 13-001?

The Saleen body kit is used from 2010-14. Ford changed the bumpers and hood in 2013-14, Saleen did not.

hood looks similar to the Sterling edition ?

looks like Ceramic brakes also. Did they ever open the hood? I am assuming this is a stroked 302 based motor, or...?

The Saleen Black Label Mustangs are the only restyled Mustangs on the market. Given low production for the previous 2010-12 editions, one would not expect a complete restyle for the minor cosmetic updates Ford executed in 2013.

There have been 2013 S302 Black Labels produced in this manner before the S351 debuted yesterday. Not sure what the expectations were of a few, but a new body kit is not one.

Cosmetically, the 2011-12 update vehicles are easy to spot. The have OE 2011-12 headlights with 2013-14 taillights.

Love that car, but agree with some of the post about the lack of changes--although, I understand the cost and why they did not change.

Really needs chrome wheels to make it pop. I am not a fan of black. Unfortunately today everyone else seems to be.

They are black chrome... they played with chrome, but with the flat black chevrons they went with black chrome, which Saleen started offering recently.

The hood is the butterfly hood that Steve introduced on the Twenty-Fifth Anniversary car he built -- it's different from the Sterling hood.

The engine is based on a 5.4, bored and stroked, with a Ford Racing supercharger, other enhancements, and a special tune.

What's the difference in the supercharged and extreme? Is it going to be similar to the previous s197's?

Can't say that i'm a fan of the rims but still love the fact that they brought the S351 back.

No reason to restyle a vehicle for the limited production nature and Ford carried over the same exterior metal stampings.

not a huge fan, introducing a new car but using older bumper stock doesnt make a lot of sense. Honestly looks likes John SMS, which is awesome, but not new, which this is suppose to be.

Yes, two performance levels to be offered in the 351 cubic inch powerplant.

Personally I didnt like the wheels in chrome previously, but after seeing them in black chrome really made me like the wheel, alot! Trust me, they look better in person. The custom color REALLY was absolutely stunning! To see Saleen grow despite the economic damage its done to most has been awesome! To bring back an Epic model is truely revolutionary in my opinion!! I only wish I will have one!

Historically, the 351 models have not had a different body kit... For those of you who don't recall or who weren't around.

Well 94-95 was a new body style as we all know, 96-98 was the s281 introduction, that had a different wing. yes it was the same body kit but the wing was different, recaros l, and obviously badging so it was different, even if it was only one piece. This 2013 does have a nice hood, rest seems leftover parts or original styling.

The 99 had the same body kit but a different wing once again, they seemed to use it 03-04. The fact that Steve lost Saleen created SMS and then got his name back, I guess we were hoping SMS wouldn't be on the bumper. Seeing as how he mentioned somewhere IIRC, he would install his name decals on SMS cars if owners wanted to.

Custom color is awesome and the body kit is okay, but those wheels just need to go. At least when Steve lost Saleen in 2010, a yellow poster car had some nice multi spoke wheels on it.

I guess if Steve is proud of SMS and wants to use both names on the car so be it, I hope the best for his company and parts department that seems to never want to answer the phone.

This car has a lot of competition and had a lot of talk surrounding it, and probably brought attention to the 94-98 and 99 s-351's.

For the ppl that have not seen black chrome in person are missing out. Even the 99-04 wheels look amazing in black chrome.

Also is this a prototype or production car bc it seems like from what ppl are saying that its a production. Thought things possibly change from prototype to production cars.

From what I read the car could start out with 700hp is this correct?

Default Concerning the new Saleen S351S/C

Hello from Sweden and SOEC member Anders Nylén,
This is one amazing looking, and very awesome car, I just love it !
...from every angle ! Mr Saleen has surely done it again…left the Shelby’s in the dust far behind him !
I have just bought myself my second Saleen from a good friend of mine in Bakersfield, California, and imported it to Sweden…a 2007 Grabber Orange Saleen/Parnelli Jones #316/500, and i am delighted to see that the color of the new Saleen 351S/C, Orange County Orange is very similar to the Grabber Orange color of my car.
Keep up the good work Mr Saleen….You are #1
Best regards from Sweden, and a true Saleen enthusiast,
Anders Nylén

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I will make mine when I see the car for myself not what is in a picture. The nice thing for the SMS owners by having SMS on the car that is creating recognition for their cars and that SMS and SALEEN are one in the same.

For all you critics out there, this car is amazing in person. The pictures don't do it justice. Believe me, the debate of the chrome vs black chrome was going on late in the night, by the owners, the night before the show. Both options are amazing, but the black chrome gaave the car a more menacing look, so this is what was chosen for the time being. The SMS rear bumper may seem odd to all of you, but in a little over a year, the new body comes out and it doesn't make sense to spend that amount of money to tool a new bumper for that short of a run. (IMHO) In the past the changes were minor between all the models. Other than the badging, hood and wing, the cars look identicle. In the end, the only thing missing on the new car is a different wing. Also, if the body flows air as well as this car does, why change it?

The way I understand it, the 351X will have at least 800 hp. Exactly how they will achieve it is still up in the air as the engine is still being developed.

I would love to have on of the 351X cars myself. I wonder what the 2015 Saleen will look like? By then, maybe I can afford one. lol

I think it was all said in a previous post. We all know this will be a limited production car just like everything else that has been made the past few years.

I heard through a source that those SMS rear bumpers on the 351X will go away. Saleen had a long internal discussion about this. Molds are being changed in next week or two. They are trying to come up with a way to fix them on an interim basis.

So why unvail a car that will be diffrent? I wonder if some 351X cars will get the SMS bumber and others will get the new bumper. Just poor planning I think.

Why all the bashing? You're not the only one here who is doing it, but why? There is a lot of criticism, that at times is understandable, but seems like a few just jump on the band wagon. Sorry for the rant

How can reporting good information be bashing? I would think possible buyers of a 100k might appreciate the information if they are paying that kinda of money.

I think if you are a serious customer you are going to the source, and not to the forums.

Default Just not enough......

The car is really nice. That being said, there isn't enough difference between this car and theother stangs out on the road. For me I need a little more than badging and a couple of body changes. Make that thing stand out, It's supposed to be special. Still haven't gotten used to the backend of these body styles. I do like the hood though, wish I could have gotten one of those on my '07 S281.

I have a 351 Extreme on order. Bumper #14. Since this is the last year for this body style (we will either hate or love the new style) I went all out. Even going with the expensive custom paint (Chromemolly). I made known to Saleen that I wasn't thrilled with the SMS badging and I was given news that changes are in the air. I have been a Saleen dealer for 10 years. Even when there was no Saleen (and later the fake Saleen) and then SMS. I never changed my letter head. I left Saleen on there because I knew Steve would be back. I have faith that the company will come thru with one hell of a car. The black chrome wheels blew me away! I love them. I am anxiously awaiting this amazing car.

I wasn't bashing ..I like the car..the hood and color is way cool..the ONLY complaint was the SMS on the bumper LOL..it could be good for us...they could bring back a fox shift knob on the next one and we wouldn't have to pay those high prices for them :)

This car looks great. Steve Saleen has done an excellent job in maintaining the style that everyone loves on the 05-09 S-Line vehicles and carrying it over to today. Although there was challenges and skeptics, Steve came through with the Ultimate Bad Boy and I am glad that he made it. He went through hell to get his name back and now deserves some recognition for putting his passion to work. Well done Team Saleen!
