Default Q: Upgrades to 1997 S281?

My 97 Saleen only has 17,000 mi on it but I am hoping to drive it more this year. My question is that with the age and new equipment available today what better supension parts should I replace (ride seems harsh to me) and the shifter does not seem to be the best? Any suggestions !

With 17,000 miles on the OD. Make sure to save the original parts removed.

Bilstein, Koni, etc make shocks that will improve ride quality.

The original Saleen shifter was produced by Hurst. It was a version of the old Mustang SVO unit.

Your best bet would be to look at www.maximummotorsports.com and then get with a shop like our that can help you select the best choice. Pro 5.0 or the UPR Blue Thunder shifter has always been my favorites.

17,000 miles?! That's awesome! My 1997 s281 has 55,000. I am actually in the boat for new suspension as well. I am leaning towards Bilstein. I have had good experiences with their products. I may try to get the Racecraft and N2 decals to make them look like the real Saleen suspension.
