Default Q: Original headlight covers?

Is there any way to know which headlight covers a car came with?
I have the brackets but the covers are long gone.

My car came with clear ones that were held on by Velcro. The covers are gone but Velcro is still there. I have an after market set that are held on by brackets

I have brackets that look like the covers just slide down into them. I think they are GTS but Im not sure.

Your car was built late in 85 and according to the Saleen book the bracket type was phased in during 85, but it doesn't say when. I'd say look for the Velcro type because that's what most people assume all 85's received, but in truth, your car may have gotten the bracket type just like the 86's.

If you can score the Velcro covers nobody will question the originality, but finding a set is very very hard....and who knows..maybe the bracket type is actually correct for your car?

At this point I can only assume that my bumper cover is the original. It has the brackets to slide the covers into. One is broken though.

I have the 86 style brackets on my 85. The GTS clear headlight covers you can still buy will fit. I have them, but they will get loose on you as the fit isn't perfect.

As long as they fit period is good, because I would probably only put them on for shows.

Default Headlight covers.........I may have NOS in box?

I just acquired (3) NOS sets (4eye) ford motorsport in org boxes. I will need someone to confirm they are correct. Some clear, and one set tinted.

Ford Motorsport and GTS were/are the same style. You need the Velcro mount covers.

My car has the metal brackets on it now that let's you slide the covers in place. I don't know if it came from Saleen that way or if they were changed.

Your car, along with mine were late builds. September 1985, mine has brackets. Yours are probably right.
