Default 2010 460x #01 - Why hasnt this one sold yet?

This is a super cool car. 2010 460x. It is also one of my favorite colors. I just wanted to get a little background on it by posting the question. Also, using the same engine block as the 05-09 models, how does this one get the HP compared to the 06-08 E Cars?

The car has a similar engine to the 2008 S302E's (i.e. a stroked 4.6l), which were rated at 620HP (and reach that with a relatively conservative tune). I'm not sure exactly what the differences are with this engine, but SMS has some top-knotch calibration engineers. I seem to remember that the 460X was designed to breath a little better, and that plus a good tune could probably net the 35HP difference.

Regards,
Chris.

It's the Series VI, which as some might recall was originally developed while Steve was at the helm of Saleen, Inc.

This is the only X built in the 2010 model year, and could really be considered a foundation for the future X vehicles, which will have the SMS Supercharger.

I was just noticing that the current offering of the car includes a flight out to the SMS Supercars facility and dinner with Steve.

Chris ,

I hate to burst your bubble but , the calibration engineers are the same guys who developed your "conservative" tuned 08' 302E.

I also agree that they are great guys , as I a have worked with them in the past. As I recall you were quick to criticize us for the issues you were having with your vehicles tune and then you end up taking it to the same guys who developed it in the first place. I just wanted to point that out, all aside I'm glad your vehicle is now fixed after the re-tune by SMS.

For those interested in what Dave is referring to, the original thread is here:

Dave, I would say that I was very *slow* to criticize SPV! As I said just over a year ago:

"So what I am doing is giving Saleen the chance to stand behind the vehicle and get her running as she should. Failing that, SMS gets a go..."

In the end, it was SMS that resolved my problem. I am extremely happy with the car now, she performs superbly, and is everything that I expected.

Regards,
Chris.

Trivia: When SMS Supercars viewed the original calibration in S302 E 08-011, it was stated that ASC/Saleen changed the program beyond recognition for the S302 E, or someone created a one.

With everyone shaking hands, it can be said that Chris has the tune 011 should of had from the start.

Beautiful car with a pedigree. But 90K there aren't going to be too many takers in this environment. The economy is not really too supportive of a price like this. Great car if it was priced at least 20K less too many other options at 90K. But none the less a true supercar.

Totally agree! I've even seen several ZR1 and super snakes going for less than that already with basically very few thousand miles and still under warranty.

Thats comparing new to used though - not really a fair comparison - you can always get more bang for your buck buying used. Compare this to a new ZR1 or Supersnake, and allow for the fact that it is 1-of-1... and its probably not too far off. Of course, the market is still tough, so I'm not saying that the price is going to move this car quickly...

Chris.

Really don't think it is fair to compare this car to a ZR1 or a Supersnake. The Vette or Shelby would destroy this car. It is still a beautiful car though and I would love to own it.

Chris.
Compare a new ZR1 or a Snake to a Mustang with the VI S/C?
That's really funny!

It will take someone who has an appreciation for a 1 of 1 I suppose. It's in the Jan edition of duPont Registry along with the 2010 grabber blue 460. I would personally like to own which ever one of these cars do not sell. I've got 2 2011's on the way as well.
