Any one safely trapping 120+ with Saleen blower and stock engine?
What's needed to get the 3v to trap 120 in the 1/4? Stage 3 kits with 3.4 pulley able to? Cams and headers needed?

120 mph is about 525whp. Back in the day I made 450whp with a 3.4 pulley and supporting mods (injectors, fuel pump, and intake). That setup was about 116mph in the 1/4. Anything near or over 500 with a stock engine is not safe. Are people at that power level and haven't blown their motors? Yes. But I have witnessed two motors run flawlessly at the track below the 500 threshold and then blow once they got the itch to turn it up a little bit. It does depend on how you get there though. I'd recommend less boost (3.4 or maybe 3.2) and add cams and headers. I'd also recommend meth/water injection. I think that's something a lot of people overlook. They show their Dyno number and wonder why it doesn't perform on the track. It's heat. I've seen my intake temps over 160 deg by the time it reached the 1320 and that just kills power, can cause detonation, pulls all kinds of timing, and hot air is less dense. Hope that helps.

Appreciate the reply. When you were trapping 116 did you have stock headers and midpipe?
