Default Q: Grand Touring Racecraft? - 3.31:1 gears

The rear end on my racecraft is a 3:31. I guess the thought was to excel in a grand touring gear. Anyone have a different gear?

i run 3:73 and love them. It's a good balance of torque and drive-ability.

I could be mistaken. I believe the Ford optional 3.55:1 gears were part of the equipment Saleen ordered in their pool Mustangs from 2006-09.

I would think finding a 5-speed manual, 3.31:1 Mustang, in either Saleen facility, from 2006-09 to be on the odd side.

It is written with a paint stick on the diff. and the previous owner had marked it on the original paper work as 3.31. MPG is 14 city and 21 HWY. I have had 20.5 MPG on regular HWY driving.

My 09 is also a 3.31 and I see an average of 21mpg in my mostly-highway driving.

Default 08 Racecraft Gear Swap

I also was under the impression that my Racecrafts had the 3:55 gear and that the option was 3:73. I recently decided to upgrade to 3:73 and was surprised when the technician doing the swap informed me that I was running the 3:31 gear. I agree with previous comment, love the 3:73s and am still getting 21 MPG.

My new rear is going in with 3.73 gears. It's the only thing I wanted to change about the car. Can't wait for the first drive.
