Default Shift knob swap?

Looking to change the shift knob on the 302E. The stock one is a little dinged up. I was curious what everyone else has done. Post pics if you've got em.

Ordered from grabberpony.com. They can engrave whatever you want on it. Got it pretty fast too.

The same people....I think the one up top rocks.
I asked them about the Saleen A's when I ordered it in 2008
as i wanted those A's in BARRICADE but they didnt have that font (back then).

Glad to see they can now.

...but that just makes me want them to redo mine.

Very nice shift knobs! I just bought one in Tungsten with the Saleen engraved on the sides in black and a black jam nut adapter! I got the 2.25" knob. Just to make sure, the Extreme with the T-56 is still a 12mm x 1.25 right?

They sell the black boot adapter at the same place they make the custom knobs.. The link is on the 2nd post.. If you talk to them i am sure they can make the knob for your TR6060..

I have the black boot adapter and the color is rubbing off, it started to after a couple months or so, so just watch out for that.

Do you have the Saleen ball knob with the shift pattern etched on the top? If so, this knob made its debut in the 2008 H302 S/C (5-speed version in the H302 3-Valve & Dan Gurney Edition) and was carried over into the 2009 S-Line.

One idea would be to go with the original S7 inspired knob featured in the 2005 or the leather wrapped version used in 2006-08.

Yep, that's the later Saleen ball knob. You could go with the original Saleen stick knob. Some like it, some don't.

Talked to Mark at GrabberPony and he said if we order 7 they will give a 10% discount.

He also wanted the URL for this site so he could join, not sure what the rules are about vendors on the site? Anyone know?

I see we have 2 that want the knobs now so if there are any others let me know and I will set something up with Mark, unless he can get on the site and set us up.

I ordered mine 02/08 and received it 02/25. They did tell me it would take longer if they did not have the specific color of knob in stock but i guess he had one left for me in the Tungsten.

Here is a pic, on the shift knob i ended up going with the color scheme of how my car came from the factory with Tungsten paint and silver graphics.

That looks nice. My friend has the same color car and ordered that same very ball. I ordered mine 1 day after him and he got his over a week ago.

I won't be doing business with grabberpony ever again. Plus you have the leave a v/m when you call. No one ever answers the phone. That's not the way I would want to run a business.........

I understand where you are coming from but it seems these days that a lot more business gets conducted over email, have you tried emailing them? I left a message and got a call back the same day. Maybe the ball that you ordered was not in stock like the Tungsten was.. I was told that if the color was not in stock that it can take about 2 weeks to get it in and another 2 weeks to process the order and ship it out. No one has had a bad experience with Grabberpony so i think you will end up fine and you will really like the shift knob, for a custom piece patience is always a virtue

You should try email, that is how I did all my ordering with them, and I got very quick reponses to all my questions. In fact Mark is who emailed me almost daily as we worked on my special order. I ordered on 2 March, and they told me it may take 4-5 weeks to complete. I may be singing a different tune in a few weeks, but they set my expectations.

Anyway, I hope you get it soon, and post some pics.

Thank you!! Wish i knew about them before i bought the other 2 shift knobs that i have, i bought the ones off eBay from the H302 in black and one in silver in case i didn't like the black, they are now paper weights after getting the Grabberpony piece. It looks like it was something from the Saleen factory because of the color scheme matching the car and the logo on the sides. I've already had a few people ask me if that was the stock shifter that came with the car, when they found out it was custom sourced they also placed an order for theirs!

Also i forgot to mention something i thought was awesome about the shift knob, it is height adjustable because you can lower the jam nut down or raise it up and then tighten the shift knob to it per the instructions. After the first install i thought it sat a bit high, i took off the knob and screwed the nut down the thread on the shifter and then put the knob back on and now it sits perfectly the way i like it low..

I was told that once the knob is shipped I will receive an email.

Well if they had it in stock then your order must have fallen through the cracks, i'm sure if you email them they will expedite your order and get it out quick since you should have gotten it like a week ago if it was in stock. I wonder if they ran out of the jam nuts or something. Whatever the reason i hope they get back to you about it and get it taken care of.

Well, I sent him an email about almost being a month since placing my order. The response I got was the shift knob was completed but was rejected due to quality issues so a new know has to be made. He says that the shift knob should be made this weekend and then off to the engraver next week. I assume the engraving takes 2 weeks. hahaha What a joke..........

I would think IF that was the case it would be good customer service to inform the customer of the issue.

Just seems like an excuse because your order slipped through the cracks like i was saying.. You are 100% right though if that was the case they should have informed you but i believe they are making your knob now because they didn't in the first place..

I often remind people in the car hobby that patience is a virtue.

It seems everything takes 3x longer or cost 3x as much as it should.

If you can, hedge your bets just in case plan A doesn't work out.

I agree that one should be patient BUT. If the lines of communication are not used then being patient is out the door the way I see it.

I only emailed them, they took a couple days to respond, but I told them what I wanted. 2 weeks later I got my knob in the mail. Had some scratches on the knob and the adapter was the wrong size, got both pieces new a week later. Guess everyones luck is different
