Well that is awesome then, I used to love WOT shifting in my 87 5.0. That is until I blew out my rearend. Then a week after being back on the road my tranny went out under normal driving. I wish they would have had the WOT box back in the 80's.

If you were to run cats, would it be better to go with metal core?

I haven't done a lot of research on that, but I would suspect metal core would be the way to go.

Interested in this thread, No emissions here so the CATS went right after I got the car, for off-road x-pipe.

Questions
1- With the throttle staying down and after the clutch blip does it want to get out of hand when it cuts back on. Being in boost I can see it trying to getaway when it comes back?
2- the clutch blip is just to activate the box, I think im missing something. I thought the idea was to avoid the lag in depressing the clutch and working it into gear?

1- no, it is more civilized than if you did a true no lift shift. I think it is that way since I have it in AUTO mode and it doesn't turn the ignition back on until you let off the clutch or 350ms. I also think that since it cuts the ignition and you aren't continuing to increase rpms that it isn't as harsh. It really feels like an automatic transmission when you get a real firm shift. I haven't been able to do any 1 to 2 shifts since I can't wot 1st on the street.

2- the box looks at throttle position and clutch pedal position. When it senses you are at wot, and depress the clutch, it cuts the ignition for a brief moment allowing you to shift. After that, it kicks everything back on.

I wanted to put an update on the wot box. Just got a code tonight that I was lean. Talked to wot box manufacturer and they said the unburnt fuel could cause the code to show up, but it wasn't going lean. Still loving it!

I haven´t done much to the car. I put in some KOOKS headers, Ford Rasing throttle boddy, 60bl injectors, 12% overdrive crank pulley and a one pice aluminium driveshaft with MT 295/45/17 drag radials for the track. I´m sure if I had done more runs I would have got better time because I was just feeling how the traction was and did not start the run on full power. In my 4th run the belt broke. It was a Gates belt that I was not satisfied with. But now I have the same belt as came on the car. Much better.

My guess is you will just have to watch the condition of your spark plugs more often. We recomend changing plugs on S/C cars every 18k miles or 18 months. You will have to reduct that depending on usuage.

Haven't had much time to mess with it lately, but I have been getting lean codes on one or both banks almost daily. I am sure it isn't truly lean, but I need to figure out why it is happening. I am going to pull the plugs and look at them as Jason mentioned and I am also going to disconnect the WOT box to see if they stop. I am just driving the car back and forth to work right now so I am not using the WOT box functionality.

Have you recently installed a new tune? Might want to check to see if there is an issue with your tune...

I remember Brenspeed asking me if I was going to keep my O2 sensors before they completed my tune.

I looked a bit and found out you can have the rear O2 sensors deleted with a tune.

Since the WOT box shuts off the ignition and dumps extra fuel, is it possible your cats are already failing and the rear O2 sensors are unable to get an accurate reading? Or is it possible the fuel dump has fouled the front sensors?

I am just shooting thoughts, feel free to correct the ignorant.

I would say that any of those scenarios sound reasonable.

Ok, got an update on my lean issue. Long story short it ended up being a cracked oil separator line. I was sure it had to be the wot box since it happened right after my install, but it wasn't. I will be performing Barricade's fix shortly.

everything has been shut down here for a while. Waiting on spring. Any Marylanders or Virginians, MIR has a track rental on April 6th. Currently I think 15 cars are set. If interested let me know

Cool

I will not be able to go to the track until late May. We have not had so much snow in Iceland like now for many years. Hopefully it will be gone before the summer. If not I just have to read about yours and envy you guys

Nice times Iceland,,, I to had problems with my Gates belt, If you are running the stock 2.87 Saleen S/C pulley you will be fine running the Gatorback belt, but if not take a look at it when you first start it up cold.
See if the belt comes off towards the front of the S/C pulley if so go to Dayco Poly Grip belt. The Gator back belt ribs are .85 wide and after market S/C pulleys except Saleen's and Metco's are .65 so the belt rides on top and will eat the front two rips off in time.

Default Any of you S/C guys run your cars?

Despite what oil companies and quick-lube shops often claim, it's usually not necessary. Stick to the service intervals in your car's owner's manual.

If your supercharged, you should follow the severe duty schedule in your manual as well.
