Default How many 1986 Saleens

I have heard 196, 199, 201. Where can I get accurat information on this?

And, did they make black cars with gold trim with black or brown interior?

Thanks,
Ed

Correct number is 201.
That is directly from Liz Summar at Saleen and is printed on my letter of authenticity for my car.
The number breakdown can be seen in Brad Bowling's "The Saleen Book" (which you can order from www.bradbowling.com or from Performance Autosport.) Early Saleens were built from whatever was available on the lot (early days) but were ordered with specific options from ford as time went on.

Hope this helps.
Do you own an 86? I have 86-147 (Dark Metallic Gray).

Default 86-0034 reporting

I just brought home 86-0034 last monday. Stumbled on it by accident while shopping for later model cars. It turned out to be in the original owners aircraft hangar. 36K original miles, overall condition just shy of excellent. It's got a few little rock chips in the paint (super glossy black), and appears to be missing the original floor mats. Otherwise the car is all original. it leaks a little oil here and there, I presume from the dry climate it was stored in for nearly 20 years. It runs out really nice. I'm in the process of educating myself about the car. I've got a request into Saleen to help me out with how it was built. I'm really interested in knowing what all the racecraft suspension consists of and any source for obsolete Saleen parts.

Thanks,

Mike
