We'll of all people I should know better but I didn't take a piece of the car with me to get the paint mixed and just gave them the code. Now the new ****e paint is no where close to matching and I don't think I can even blend it in and make it look right. But at least it's painted. Still have to put it all back together yet though. Will have bumper numbers and headlight covers on for Carlisle.

The headlight covers look ok. After I made a spacer to go behind each bracket. There is a cutout for some reason on the covers and it makes them to short to stay in place. The curves around the perimeter are not exact. They are what they are though. At least it looks like a four eye Saleen now on the front.

These are what I took today. I didn't take any real close ups though. I'll have to do that when I get home.

I believe this is your car. I saw it in 2011 at the SCOA Nationals in Madison, Indiana. Look familiar?

Thanks for the pic Firehead. It looks a little better now. I put all the emblems back on the car cleaned it up and changed the front to an '86 air dam. That came with the car when I bought it last fall.

I would like to find out some of the history the car.

Even upside down. Sorry, don't know why they did that. Can someone fix that for me please?

I'm a patient person, but this car is trying what little I have left!! I got my replacement wiper control module today and guess what, the wipers still don't work !! So I guess the only thing left now is the switch on the column. I hate electrical problems!
The wiring harness for the engine has turned into a huge pain in the **** too.
Because of it I found the elusive vacuum leak that I knew I had but couldn't find. The **** vacuum advance on the distributor of all things.
I swear if I don't have this car running by the end of this weekend I'm selling it!!!
Ok, I'm done venting now.

If I recall correctly the wiring harness that attaches to the column and switches is problematic in these cars.

Was it backfiring out the carb under throttle?

The vacuum advance can is a frequent issue with the carb'd cars. You can tune the advance unit to suit the combo as well. Check 4EP for details. There should be a thread there with the instructions. All you need is a vacuum pump and an Allen key.

Never backfired. It ran like a scalded dog actually. I can't understand how though. I'm really curious now to see how well it runs. If I can get the distributor back in that is.

I tried another wiper switch and still have the same symptoms. I don't know what can be left to check besides the circuit breaker in the fuse panel.
I'm open to any and all suggestion at this point. Yeah yeah I know don't drive it in the rain. Other than that.

Well success at last! The wipers work and the new engine harness is in. I'm planning on going to a cruise in tomorrow night that is about 75 miles down the highway from me. That should be a good drive to see how the car really is. I don't expect any problems (fingers crossed).
If everything seems ok from that I intend to spend the rest of the summer just driving it.

Crore now that's what I'm going to do. Trouble is rain comes up sudden and hard sometimes around here in the summer.

Wipe some Rain-X on there, and enjoy your car.

Well I'm not sure exactly what I did but it seems the wipers are working....again. I guess we'll see if they're fixed for good or not.

I still have a rattle I can't seem to pin down the location of yet.

Well I found the noise. The right front strut insert threads are stripped and letting the strut insert bang inside the strut body. I'm going to try and fix it before spending any more money on this bottomless pit.

We'll for now I was able to fix the strut with a nut on the insert. So now I am moving on to both of the power windows that rolled down and the only way to get either one back up was to take the door panel off and beat on the motor. I pulled one out and tore it apart to find it ful of 30 years of dirt so I'm cleaning them and putting them back together.
We'll see what happens.

I pulled both window motors out, cleaned up the brushes and commutator and put them back together. They both work good so now it will be a matter of time to see if they stay working.
I'm done for now I hope. I would like to think I've finally got rid of most of the gremlins and can just drive the car and enjoy it.

Well I noticed its been a while since I posted any kind of updates.
I havent done a lot, but in the end i replaced the window motors with new ones. I found nos front seats at Carlisle. But only the fronts so I'm looking for a tan back seat that is not faded across the top.
I am going to install an aftermarket wiper switch for now with all new wires and bypass the factory wiring altogether.
I am trying to recover the steering wheel my self which is turning out to be much more complicated than l anticipated. What I need are some good pics of the stitching and seems on a Wolf wheel. If anyone can take some pics of theirs it would be appreciated.
