Default Q: 2006 S281 SC Performance Upgrades?

I am thinking about add a little more power to my 2006 Saleen over the winter, what do you guys think about these upgrades.

GT 500 fuel pump upgrade
3.2 Pulley
Cams
Brenspeed Detroit Rocker Supercharged version
or Brenspeed Custom Twin Screw Cams
and a New Dyno tune

I am currently running the 3.4 pulley, Brenspeed mail order tune checked AF on local dyno, Kooks long tube headers and catted H pipe, DSS drive shaft, Saleen Extreme CAI, upgrade heat exchange with dual 7" fans, v10 water pump pulley and UPR tensioner. Currently making 465 rwhp and 465 rwtq.

I would be nervous with a 3.2 pulley and a stock bottom end. Pump upgrade is a good idea at your power levels.

Have you done any chassis or suspension work? That would be a good next step. Lighten it up with a tubular k-member and throw on a cortex watts link and some coil overs. Also consider torque arm and some LCAs.

Well I had a 3.2 with a "safe" tune when my rods and block conspired against me to create a neat little window in the aluminium side of the block. You can do the upgrades, but you are already at the edge of the rods capabilities. Mine snapped and showed signs of stress fractures, no detonation. Just FYI.

Of course if you never really use the extra power you can get away with it, but what's the point?

I would agree that suspension work is a better investment until you are ready to drop the $15k on a built motor and the rest of your planned upgrades.

I have all the upgrades you listed other than the one piece drive shaft. I also have the BMR full tubular front setup and a Cortex watts, tubular LCAs and tubular bmr UCA in the back. The suspension changes added more fun for the investment IMHO.

I have coil overs and a torque arm on the list of the next mods.

Thanks for the information guys, I figured it was close to the rod limits of the 3v, the problem is the car just feels slow. It still runs good at the track, I have been a best of 7.38 in the 1/8 and normally is a constant 7.5 car, but I am trying to get it into the low 7's or high 6's in the 1/8 so you guys are problem right with upgrading the suspension and losing some weight. The cams were more for sound, I like the way the 3v's sound with a good cam but didn't want to give up any low end to torque or horsepower with one.

I have the Brenspeed twin screw detroit rocker grind. Great lope when the motor is unloaded. More power? supposedly, but I changed to many variables to know. If you run the A/C, probably not an issue with the drop top, the lope almost disappears.

If you are working on the 1/8th mile, a 4:10 gear or more is probably the first thing I would do followed by suspension. Have fun with her!

06saleen, did you have a new belt on when you dynoed? I have seen belts stretch out 1 to 1 1/2 inch. causing belt slip. Go to mosaleen.com
I sell a Grip plate system that wraps the belt around the S/C pulley, which more belt contact less slip when belt stretches out... gains the hp/tq you have lost. I warranty bearings, and if you are not pleased with it I give your money back as soon as I get it back.
I would do this and if it dosnt please you then I would save my money and get a new forged block with cams, etc. Then no worries mate...
