Help: Speedometer Issues - 2006 S281 SC
Hey guys. I have seen some postings about challenges with the ECU flashing when replacing the instrument cluster in the Saleen Mustangs. I need a little advice on this one as well. The cluster in my 2006 281SC went bad a few minths ago. The local Ford dealer tracked down someone ( in the Atlanta area I think) that could move the overlay and other hardware over to a new GT instrument cluster and then flash the unit to work with the 200mph overlay. When I got the car back, the speedometer seems to be correct but I noticed the ither day that the odometer is inly registering around .7 mikes for each 1 actual mile. Called the Ford dealer back and they pretty much told me that was all they could do for me and I would have to live with it that way. Anyone out there have any suggestions as to the cause of just my odometer reading low or someone that might be knowledgeable enough to work on the vehicle?

check your menu and see if your odometer is set in kilometers instead of miles. 1 km= 0.621371 miles. you can switch the setting back to read in miles. just saying!

The equipment to convert an S197 cluster to Saleen spec is still in Michigan. For a fee your cluster can be flashed like OE.

Do you have any contact info for the service? I called Saleen and was told they no longer have a working machine for this (the same answer that a few other folks have mentioned).
