Default Help: Series VI with knocking noise

I have an 05 GT with a Series VI supercharger kit on it. The supercharger seems to make a lot of knocking noise at idle. I am concerned that the unit may have a failing bearing. I have not heard another of these units running on a car to compare as they are fairly rare in my area. I bought this blower kit used with no history, so I don't know how it should sound.
I have replaced the snout assembly with the later model unit (mine was leaking). There was not any metal or damage visible to the gears or rotor pack when I had it apart that I could see. I am full of oil and have the 281 dipstick kit installed.
The blower has a 8-9 lb pulley on it. The engine is basically stock with the exception of a JLT cold air, BBR stage 1 cams and BBK long tubes with the catted x-pipe.
If anyone can answer this it would be appreciated. I can take a short video of the noise and send it if it would help with diagnosis.
Thanks in advance.

Post up a video. These Superchargers do tend to be pretty noisy at idle.

You can hear the rattle best near the end of the clip.
Thanks for your help.

I don't know if it's the mic but It does sound like there's something not right in there to me.

Not much of a tech, but for a noise like that it should be producing a strong vibration. The vibration would be caused by the friction of the rotors clashing... Mine doesn't sound anything like that, and the vibration isn't too strong, even when revved. My 6th sense says if you have a really strong vibration, you would have badly worn rotors that would need to be replaced

Did you email me this video? I kinda remember seeing this, but I watch a lot of your videos. I cannot be certain without taking it apart, but the first thing that comes to mind is either bad NDA bearings or an out of time drive assembly. Either way STOP running the car. Whatever it actually is can cause damage beyond repair.

We are the referred Saleen Supercharger re-builder by Saleen and many SOEC members. If you would like us to help, give us a ring.
