Q: Front popping noise, strut mounts? - My First saleen
got a 2006 saleen 3 weeks ago car has 9300 miles on it. car is making that popping noise in the front end , I guess its the upper strut mounts. what strut mounts are you guys using? GT-500 or steeda. need to grease the sway bar bushings don't think they ever been greased.

I had the same problem with mine when I bought it 5 years ago. Tighten your swaybar mounting bolts, that fixed mine. Good luck.

there is a question in this month's muscle mustangs and fast fords about this. The indicated it could be as simple as the strut mount just needs tightened. They also indicated there can be numerous solutions to this problem.

Usually a fluttering knocking noise that sounds like morse code going down the road is the main center strut bolt. We used to blast them with an impact at Saleen but I dont recommend it. I would just put a wrench on it and see if you get any turns out of it. The bearings in your strut hat are probably bad too. Especially in and early S197.
