removing shifter knob
2006 saleen wanting to change out shifter but cant get the knob off, I think they used lock tight. want to reuse it but don't want to damage it, any ideas? don't see any set screws. going to warm it a bit with my heat gun then put on some gripper gloves and try to muscle it off, any other ideas?

update. warmed it up with heat gun, put a needle nose vise grip in the groove where the boot goes. one hand on top of knob other on the vise grip, slow going but it came off, and the boot cover the marks from the vise grips

Shift knob removal
I had the same problem. Why does Saleen feel the need to use Loctite on teh screw-on gear shift knob! Jeez! What a bugger to remover. Maybe Saleen thinks they are so exclusive that people are always trying to steal the gear shift knob....I just don't get it!
