New Owner Q's: Fuel Grade?
Recently purchased 07 S281 #214.
What fuel do I need to use? Premium? Higher Octane? I cannot find any info anywhere. Feel free to laugh at me. I just wanna go for a DRIVE!! |

They recommend Premium. Should say it right under your speedometer.

Thanks Dave!
Yeah I'm an idiot, it was right there when I opened the door to remove the gas cap. Filled it up and went for a cruise. Can I ask a question about what speeds I should be shifting at? I've been letting the RPM's get to about 2500-3k before shifting up for cruising. |

Anything with a supercharger or turbo needs premium for sure, or the computer will pull timing.
As for shifting, get to know the car and how it feels and shift whenever you like.

Run 93 octane as much as possible and the minimum run 91 if u cannot find 93 octane. 93 octane is best as this will reduce any chance of detonation. Ideally you want to have a wideband air / fuel ratio gauge so you can read A/f ratios as if you get a bad tank of gas and your motor is detonating you will see it in the gauge showing it running lean. If your at stock boost as well as tune probally not a huge concern but run 93 always if possible 91 if not but no lower ever.
