Default Pricing info: 2006-09 S281 & S302 Extremes

Been wanting a saleen for a while now, and would be my next car when I sell my other three cars. Just wondering on how much the s302es have been going for, not possitive but I think there were like only 25 regular s302es made and like 25 of the sterling? I love the look of the 05-09 models but I don't think I would go with a regular s281 sc and definitely not a 3 valve I just need the extra power of the extreme lol...

Btw no hate to the 3 valves and the s281 sc, they're both sexy and fast cars just looking for a bit more ponies.

And man oh man would I love to get a beryllium copper s281e but did they only make s281 sc in beryllium copper? And there are only a hand full of the s302es so finding one of those is like a needle in a hay stack I'm sure.

You can probably get more bang for your buck with a SC S281 over the extreme and do some minor mods to get the hp you want. Seems that the key to all these cars is to know what you want in the end, as far as hp goes. The SC S281's can only take around 550hp at the crank safely give or take a few depending on your driving style. That is where the hp starts on a factory extreme but you will need the extra cash to get the E if you can find one.

It seems like a buyers market on Extreme models lately. Prices seem to have really dropped off over the last year. Low mileage Extremes are in the low to mid 30k range which is a killer deal for buyers. Finding a later model 302 version is going to be tough and the price will escalate. This is true of any of the specialty paint models as well.

In 2006 Saleen produced three S281 Extremes in Beryllium Orange. Three coupes. One was an executive demo.

In 2007 Saleen produced three S281 Extremes in Beryllium Orange. Two coupes and one convertible.

In 2008 Saleen produced two S302 Extremes in Beryllium Orange. Two convertibles.

Given the above stats. One BO coupe had/has sun damaged paint. One BO coupe was plagued with electrical issues. One BO convertible was spun in circles and driven off road hitting everything in its path.

Dave I didn't know they made s302e's in 2009? I thought they were only made in 2008? Did Saleen make a s302 non extreme, with the 2005-2009 body style?

I understand you can upgrade a s281 to make what the extreme's are pushing but, stock is always worth more, when it comes to these kind of cars, so if I ever got a s302e or a s281e I doubt I'd change anything about it, as I would want to remain stock and even being stock they are fast enough, considering they're vette killers :p

And only 35k for a s302e!?!?!?! WOW that's a great buy! An s302e is definitely on the top of my list but I'd settle for an s281e or a s281 sc, if I can't find one once I get my cars sold.

The S302 Extreme was offered for 2009 as well. New graphics, new seat cover design. Five were produced.

Yes. In 2009 Saleen introduced the S302 Supercharged model. It was an S-series car with the drivetrain from the 2008 H302 Supercharged model.

Saleen only produced one. It was a black coupe. It was exported out of North America.

My '08 Extreme #02 was Saleen's Demo car and the only '08 S302E to be updated by Saleen to the '09 specs which included the new different seat covers, push button start, chrome center grille treatment, different door graphics and chevrons and the perforated metal hood opening covers with the Saleen badge

There are certainly more '09 Extremes as we seen 2009 #02 Black Extreme in Texas along with #09 Rainbow at a private collection during SCOA Nationals 2 years ago.

The original post stated he "would definitely not want a 3-valve". I think it's important to point out that all 05'-09' Extremes are 3-valve cars. The "302" came by way of a stroker kit.
Also,
I would like to know where I can get the windshield and door graphics that are on Tony's 08' Extreme. I like the smaller letters on the windshield in particular. Short of having someone make them does anyone sell them?

I understand the s281 sc and s281e are 3 valves, but what I meant is I don't want a 3 valve N/A sorry about the confusion there :P, and the 302 is not the 5.0 aluminator? Is it just the 289 4.6L stroked?

I've never heard the aluminator block was used...just the factory 4.6 aluminum block that came in all S197 Mustangs but with forged internals (Kellogg crank, Manley rods, and CP pistons.) No over-bore, just straight stroker. They also had CNC ported factory aluminum heads, custom cams and a smaller blower pulley. Not to mention the revised intake and tuning. Mine is good for ~600 rwhp and 550 ft Lbs.

The graphics were still available from Saleen in Troy a couple of years ago only in black and silver, except for mine which was a one off and is a dark gray color made up of a series of dots.
If anyone knows where I can get this material would be appreciated.

There were five S302 Extremes produced in 2009. The rare car is the S302 Supercharged. It was a new model priced between the S281 Supercharged and S302 Extreme.

Would anyone be interested in selling a 2008 s302e for 35k? If i can find someone selling, I will sell my cars asap and try and purchase it. I like red, beryllium, yellow, blue, I prefer those colors but I would buy a silver or black but I just feel you lose a lot of the saleen look in black. And I'm just not a silver guy.. anyways if someones looking to sell an s302e I'm interested.

Don't know. It was entered in multiple Mecum Auctions and did not meet reserve. There is a chance the owner(s) were tired and wanted it gone. They may have also chanced by not having a reserve more folks would bid.

Most S197 Extremes are black in color.

if a BO 'E' comes up for 35k thats is good/excellent condition, pretty sure it would be gone before you can sell your cars. Just sayin :)
