Figure about $4k or so for the supercharger....plus install and tuning (for a KB or whipple).

You can do a centrifugal supercharger for a lot less (maybe $2k-$3k) if you like high end power.

Or you can watch Ebay and look for a series II or series IV saleen supercharger and manifold.

Don't do it. just save your money and buy what you want the first time. Don't settle. Trust me on this one... :-)

saleen777 offers some great advise. Given the current market, along with how the New Edge 1999-2004 Saleens are falling into the "used car" segment, finding a factory S/C car at an attractive price is completely doable.

Some of it will depend on if you're willing to ship a car in from out-of-state and your price range.

Then too... if the 2000 you're looking at is below market value... or if you find any N/A S281 well below market in superb cosmetic an mechanical condition, those re-enter the running.

Or in my case, a one-way flight and gas money to drive it back.

Thirding igloo's sentiments. If you're truly in the market and want a supercharged car, look for a supercharged car.

I'm glad I've got a fun toy that I don't really have to do anything to. It was fun out of the box, didn't even need assembly or batteries.

Ok, it DID need a battery, having sat all winter...which was thrown in by the previous owner. :)
