Default Replacement hood pin set?

I am interested in replacing the hood pin set on my PJ. I would like to use a billet style rather then the flat style which came with the car. Has anyone done this and can recommend one which will fit the PJ hood. Thanks

Bruce installed the billet hoodpins similar to what was optional on the 2007 Shelby GT.

The stock/OE PJ hoodpins are out of the Ford Racing Parts catalog.

Mine are looking scratched up quite a bit and I wouldn't mind getting new ones.

Thanks for the info on the stock pieces.

That is the primary reason why I replaced the orignal hood pins on my PJ. I got tired of looking at the deep scratches.

what was the size difference from the stock to the shelby hood pins? I am thinking about doing this to my heritage saleen but i want to make surer that the size difference isn't too much since the pins go over the vinyl.

No extra drilling is needed. You will have to adjust the pins though from under the hood.

Thanks Bruce. I am more interested in knowing the outside diameter difference of the chrome plate to the billet base?

Sorry the PJ is in storage. I don't think its much different and I say this because I have 3M protecting the hood and front end and cutout circle around the OEM hood pins were fine when the new plates were put on. You can see it by comparing the above pictures. In fact if you look closely it looks like the replacements are a little smaller in diameter.

Bruce,

Do you track your car at all?

I'm wondering how a clear mask will hold up to track duty, and if the tire rubber marks can be cleaned off the clear mask.

It'd be a lot easier than having to tape up my car for every track event like I have to do now:
